What was your first game you ever played? Mine was Super Mario Land on Gameboy when I was 3 years old.
What was your first game you ever played?
Solitaire. Dad got a windows laptop from work in probably 1991 or 1992 so I would have been 3 or 4. I remember watching him play it and then him letting me play. It was the first time I was allowed to stay up past my bed time, which was 8.
My parent's pong machine. Though I might have dug that out of storage sometime after the woody Atari 2600. The first game I played on which was Combat. I do know my first RPG was Adventure. If you can call Adventure an RPG. First NES game was definitely Super Mario Bros. First Sega Master System game was Alexx Kidd. First Genesis game was Space Harrier II. First Super Nintendo game was Super Mario World. First PS1 game was Final Fantasy VII.
Nothing's been quite as memorable since, though I do know the first PS2 game I played after I actually owned the system was Ratchet & Clank: Deadlocked, and I didn't do much gaming at all between the late nineties and the mid 00s since I was busy being cool and poor, making music and being in a band or three.
Help me out guys. The first game in my memory comes at 3 years old but it is blurry as hell.
The first game I ever played was on an Atari console, I would assume the 2600. I used a one button joystick, I remember that fully. Big red button.
It was a sidescrolling(?) car game where you drove to the right, and would have to squeeze your car through little tunnels and in between walls. I remember it in black-and-white, or at least a rather monochrome color scheme.
Anyone know this game? I'd get a kick out of unraveling this 24 year old mystery.
when i was like 3 or so i was hospitalized with some hardcore respiratory disease, i had to live in a bubble for a couple weeks and then spent awhile more recovering at the hospital.
But the childrens room had this atari machine with donkey kong on it and i hogged the FUCK out of it.
Does the Merlin count? It guess nostalgia is super expensive: http://www.amazon.com/1978-Parker-Brothers-Merlin-Handheld/dp/B002YZ8RFE
If not, then Double Dragon in the Peter Piper arcade.
I have a really hard time being sure what the "first" game I ever played was, but it was probably either Parsec or Hunt the Wumpus for the TI-99/4A.
I think either Snake Rattle and Roll, or Super Mario Bros. I can't really remember which was first, but they were both significant to my childhood that I remember them.
Man. Something on the Commodore 64. The first games I really remember playing were Barbarian and Winter Games. I remember thinking Barbarian was really cool looking, and I don't think my parents understood that it involved beheadings and such. Winter Games I was really good at a few of the events (bobsled, Biathalon) but could never do some of the other events (figure skating) in the game. I was about 4 at the time.
Not Now Said the Cow back in the mid 90s. It was an edutainment game that was a retelling of the Little Red Hen story with a hip-hoppin' crow trying to make a bowl of popcorn.
I don't remember the exact game. What I do remember though is my parents got me an Atari 2600 and a stack of games from a yard sale when I was a wee lad. Some of the games I remember from the stack were Adventure, Pitfall, Barnstorming, Fishing Derby, and Pole Position.
I started with one of the best, Super Mario World. Parents bought me a nes for a birthday and that was all i played for a long time.
Donkey Kong 64. First and hardest video game I've ever played. I was about six years old when I first played it and that was around 2000. Still never beaten it though.
It was probably Duck Hunt but I'm not 100% sure. I know the first one that I owned was Pokemon Red for the Gameboy (I had a Gameboy pocket).
Mine was Head Over Heels on the Amstrad CPC 6128. Loved it, many hours of fun for a 8 year old.
"Peekaboo" or "got your nose" with my mom. Woman was a master at those games.
At least you played it with your mom. My uncle from Calgary still has my nose.
I really can't think what the first video game I ever played was.
The first game I remember properly was Duck Hunt on the NES, but I have earlier memories of messing around with an Amstrad computer that ran games from cassettes.. I don't remember any details of the games, just that they took absolutely forever to load up.
