Was thinking about if Crytek/EA would release a full-bells-and-whistles version of Crysis 3 for Xbone/PS4.

But if they did, what the hell would they call it? Crysis 3: Enhanced Edition? What about all the other current-gen titles that could be profitably re-released in 1080p with 'higher settings' from the PC versions? Will there be a naming scheme or just a free-for-all?

I think they will drop the HD from the titles, and go with some catchy name. Redux, Revised or something weird like that. That is to say even if the games look marketably better, the HD in the name wouldn't make sense anymore.

I hope companies making Xbox One games will take the cheesy naming convention used for Nintendo DS games and have all their games' subtitles start with O. Like "Gears of War: Onslaught", "Forza Origins", or "Blinx 3: Out of Time"

You hit the nail on the head. Something in the vane of director's cut for movies.

ENGORGED AND VEINY EDITION.

@hamst3r: If a game is given that subtitle, it's an automatic buy for me.

@mikey87144: I like this. Potentially moving from "remake" to just a port or re-release.

Most of the HD Remakes I own this gen arent due to being in HD, just that these are out of print games I missed out on and get a chance to play now.

I don't think they are going to be able to do it. Someone is going to try, because it will be easy, but I don't think people will bite next time.

Unless they start going way back and doing SNES and PS1 games, but then you don't add anything to the title. You just call that ff7 rebuild, "Final Fantasy VII."
