Since this generation is going to end soon i wanted to know what was your favorite game or games . If i had pick one game it had to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots, Hideo Kojimas epic masterpiece to Metal Gear Solid Saga, sure people may call it more of a movie than game. I would say a wonderful piece interactive media and also one of the few games i have ever played in one sitting 16 hours that is.

Red Dead Redemption. Atmosphere is as good as any game ever, amazing dialogue, the story does have some pacing issues but is overall truly great, gunplay is awesome, horse riding is great, art style is fantastic, Natural Motion animation...

So much to say good about it.

to hard to say or narrow it down to just one.

at a push i'd Bioshock

Are you sure? It feels like it's just began.

Anyway, I'd have to go with Virtue's Last Reward. It truly is a great game, even despite there being relatively few games released this generation.

Journey, Dear Esther, and Amnesia. I had huge emotional connections to both Journey and Dear Esther, and the memories of when my friend and I played through Amnesia all night will never be forgotten.

You can only pick one game, not two.

PC is just one massive gen, but if you mean PC games that came out in the same console gen as the current ones then I would say Dragon Age Origins is one of my favourites. I just wish they would make a sequel to the game. Been dying for more content since it came out. I also loved me some TF2 and L4D 1/2. They are some of my favourite shooters and I have had more fun with them then just about anything ever made. I spent hundreds of hours playing them with a friend and each time was as fun as the first time.

#9 Posted by Sgtpierceface (481 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Well Portal 2 is my all-time favorite game so I guess I would have to go with that.

#10 Edited by TheManWithNoPlan (1138 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

There's really too many great games to just pick one or two, so Fuck it. I'll just say that " Skyrim, Mass Effect 2,MW2,Arkham Asylum / City, Uncharted 2, Bioshock, MGS4 and Super Mario Galaxy" are some of the most fun times I've had with a game this generation. If it lives up to my expectations, then I would say Bioshock Infinite as well.

Skyrim.

Mass Effect 2 Is the best game this gen imo.

However, the game I had the most fun with/ played the most was Halo 3.

#19 Posted by Stange88 (65 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

@Timing: not really, didnt know Neogaf had one. I just wanted to know what Giantbomb users favorite game or games were that is all

#20 Posted by MikkaQ (9754 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Grand Theft Auto IV, because I still think it's the best realized world in video games.

#21 Posted by Slag (2034 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Dragon's Dogma

#22 Posted by Fredddi43 (233 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Bioshock. It's not my favorite game this generation, but it's up there and I think it's one of the most influential.

#23 Posted by liquiddragon (116 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

I would have to say Valkyria Chronicles. I just had the best time with that game.

#24 Posted by Donkeycow (470 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Between Red Dead Redemption and Fallout 3.

Fallout 3

#27 Posted by mandude (2588 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Mount and Blade, if we're counting potential.

#28 Posted by Mushir (2329 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Choosing just one is impossible for me. Uncharted 2 blew me away. Portal had my jaw-dropped with its ingenuity. Super Mario Galaxy was just pure fun. Burnout Paradise was one hell of a ride. Some may consider it last gen but Twilight Princess was magical to me. I hadn't played a console Zelda game before and TP made me fall in love with the franchise. I'm playing through Red Dead Redemption for the first time now and it's quickly becoming one of my favorites of this gen.

I have to give Wii Sports a mention as well. Playing that game for the first time was amazing.

#29 Posted by Icicle7x3 (949 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Super Mario Galaxy - Pure fun.

#30 Posted by Fredchuckdave (1981 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

What's your favorite thread that asks a similar question?

Uncharted 2; though the Witcher 2 is slightly better and I have a lot of fondness for Dark Souls. Favorite underrated game is Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage and Bayonetta/Vanquish have the best gameplay

#31 Posted by BabyChooChoo (3598 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Valkyria Chronicles and Folklore.

#32 Posted by project343 (2680 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Mass Effect. I can't decide which.

#33 Posted by colorbrandon (99 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Dark souls

#34 Posted by Jack268 (3386 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Mirror's Edge

#35 Posted by Poppduder (396 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Red Dead Redemption. I love spaghetti westerns, really enjoyed the characters (especially good example of a string female character with Bonnie) The gameplay was tight, fun and the world felt really alive. Also I don't think I remember saying "wow, this game is pretty" more than I did with this one.

#36 Posted by Carryboy (425 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Super street fighter 4

#37 Edited by beeftothetaco (402 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

There are too many to narrow it down.

#38 Posted by bkbroiler (1266 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Arkharm Asylum. I can't think of anything I dislike about it.

#39 Posted by Demoskinos (9517 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

I'm going to say Bioshock.

#40 Posted by Counterclockwork87 (203 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

GTA IV

#41 Posted by haffy (637 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Sc2. Dark Souls is pretty close behind though.

#42 Posted by mercutio123 (281 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Burnout Paradise. Still so rad

#43 Posted by Spaceyoghurt (148 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Hard to say. Maybe not the best game as a whole, but the most amazing experience I had was playing through the first Mass Effect. Pure magic.

#44 Posted by drag (1223 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

possibly dark souls

#45 Edited by devilzrule27 (1034 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

I'd have to say Mass Effect 1. I must have beat that game at least 10 times. Honorable mention to Skyrim, Fat Princess, and Dragon Age.

#46 Posted by Brodehouse (7284 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Mass Effect 2, with the runner up being Bastion.

#47 Edited by Yummylee (18305 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

RRRRRRRRRRed Dead Redemption... Maybe. That or Uncharted 2. Or Demon's Souls. I'm just too indecisive and I have too much love to share!

edit; Oof, not to mention Dragon Age: Origins!

#48 Posted by NapTimeSleeper (307 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

I think it would be Skyrim for me but I enjoyed a lot that has come out this generation.

#49 Posted by Soapy86 (2468 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

Mass Effect 2 I think.

#50 Edited by OfficeGamer (1029 posts) - 4 months, 20 days ago

I would say Red Dead Redemption, but the fact that it was never released for PC killed it's replayability for me, and in retrospect it was a boring aim assist shooting gallery with a stupendously overwhelming sense of novelty that saved it.

If only I could play it with a mouse, aiming at heads rather than frantically releasing and holding LT for auto lock-on, and if only I could mod it and have it look great and load instantly....

So my answer is GTA IV.
