My gf says all you do in games is just kill things, and if you don't they are shitty like animalfarm(some facebook game). It doesn't necesarily have to be no killing, just minimal. Keep in mind, "good games"!

There's a LOT of good games that don't involve violence and/or killing.

Portal.

Well, except you do kill a few robotic pieces, but that's only like 5% of the game.

Well technically you roll people up and send them into space. That can't be good for one's health. But then again the people practically beg to be rolled up in We <3 Katamari... so I guess it's assisted suicide at that point? o_O

Someone already beat me to Tetris... So how about Dr. Mario! Or Little Big Planet? Or Wii Sports? Or Rockband?
#17 Posted by Colf (144 posts) -

If you want to feel smart, Braid. You do not do anything in that game.

Bro every Ace Attorney case starts with a murder.

Any popcap game...

#25 Posted by ZenaxPure (2569 posts) -
@ryanwho: Just a guess but I assume he means games where you actually murder people with guns/swords/dragons/magical hair or whatever.

F-zero.

Silent Hill Shattered Memories, no one dies in that game, and it's a survival horror game.

#27 Posted by CenturionCajun (1461 posts) -

Ace Attorney Series
Mario Kart Series
LittleBigPlanet
Motorstorm Series
Professor Layton Series
Trash Panic
Wii Sports Series

That's just from looking at my shelf and browsing my downloadable games. If you really want to get cheap you can say any sports game ever made. Although she might say that's cheating.

Never forgetting also Dead or Alive: Extreme Beach Volleyball and Xtreme 2. Those games have no violence.

"Mirror's Edge" you are encouraged to not kill anyone. But I'm not sure if it's exactly possible.

Gears of War 2, because we all know that Locust aren't people :P.

You're forced to kill people multiple times in that game (the QTE boss, for example).

Well, if you want to delve in semantics, not every case in the series starts with a murder.  I'm even certain that there's one particular case that has no murder at all.  But the op was specifically talking about games in which you kill people, and you definitely don't do that in the Ace Attorney games or the Ace Investigations game.

there's plenty, but i won't name those that people have already said, so

Peggle. I fucking love balls and Unicorns.

And you know you do too.

#38 Posted by FluxWaveZ (19307 posts) -
@Zenaxzd: Actually, I have no idea what I'm talking about.  But I have some memory of a certain case where there was no murder (at least for a long while into it, I suppose).  Perhaps that's the one.

If you like racing, Dirt 2's where it's at.

#40 Posted by Lambert (404 posts) -

Swat 1,2,3,4

Yep, you can go through the whole game without killing anyone.

Deus Ex? (I haven't play a pacifist play-through)

I'm sure one of the older Splinter Cell games can also be played without killing anyone.

#41 Edited by Spike94 (735 posts) -

Anyone say Patapon 2 yet?
I know you technically kill stuff, but it's light-hearted.

EDIT: Also. Party games. Pacman Fever is a classic in my opinion, and since you have a girlfriend I could only begin to imagine the fun, if you're looking for a Martio Party-like game for the PS2.

People die in the Myst games sometimes, but overall they're pretty chill. And, y'know, awesome.
