What about you?

Lost Odyssey... 103 hours on one playthrough.

#3 Posted by Jimi (1126 posts) -

Either Demons souls (New Game +++) or persona 4. Never finished 3, the story progressed so slowly :/.

#4 Posted by CornontheCobbe (2645 posts) -

I'd say probably The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.

Played that on my laptop for a hell of a long time. Think i pretty much completed every quest almost, including the Shivering Isles.

That I actually beat? That would probably be Persona 3!

Morrowind.
Holy fucking balls.
I have literally experienced every single thing in that game that came in the box.
Amount of time? Christ, I don't know. If I were to guess... 150 hours? 200? A LONG TIME.

Does world of warcraft count?

Fallout 3. After finishing every quest (all DLC included) and doing everything I wanted to, my save file was around 140 hours. I loved that game.

#9 Posted by dankempster (2249 posts) -

I sank over 120 hours into my playthrough of Final Fantasy X. I may have played more of Morrowind, but without any kind of time counter, I have no way of knowing.

#10 Posted by atomic_dumpling (2462 posts) -

1. Baldur's Gate II
2. Morrowind
3. Dragon Age: Origins

#11 Posted by alexl86 (620 posts) -

Longest in terms of storyline or game I spent the longest finishing? If you mean the former, I'm not sure. Could be a FF game, or it could be Dragon Age, I'm not sure. If the latter, I have a file in Oblivion that's clocked over 200 hours, where I've pretty much just finished Shivering Isles(I had finished all other questlines).

Tie Fighter Collector's CD-ROM (i.e. including Defenders of the Empire and Enemies of the Empire)

Considering that with all the expansion packs Tie Fighter had hundreds of missions, lasting somewhere between 30 and 90 minutes on average, you maybe begin to imagine how much time it took to complete. Now DOUBLE that time, since I played through all the campaigns twice.

Hundreds upon hundreds of hours.

230 for for FFX.

About to be eclipsed by Oblivion,  Played it till I got the Megaton glitch that hits around 440 hours. Then I relaoded to a save I had earlier at about 370 hours. I'm making my way through that slowly (playing  a quest, then reloading to do it as fast as possible so I don't hit 440 again)

#14 Posted by Rhombus_Of_Terror (2089 posts) -

Guild Wars, 2200 hours and climbing.

#15 Posted by super_machine (1930 posts) -

Ultima 7, How I ever beat that game is still an amazing chapter.

im sure there were many with more hours years ago, but that i actually remember looking at the time...Dragon AGe with 50hours. Not counting World OF Warcraft of course

FF13 will probably beat that since im with 30 hours on chapter 10, so I didnt even get to the "open world" part yet

I finished Final Fantasy 6,7 and 10, Persona 3+4. I think I clocked ~40-60 hours for each of those.

I'm only refering to it as the Megaton glitch because that's what I'd seen it called on the Elder Scrolls forums.

When you pass a certain time in the game, some animated textures start to freeze, I would've lived with that and continued the game, but then I read that a door that needs to open at the end of the game won't animate, rendering finishing the game impossible at that point.  That glitch is unfixable in the 360 version.

RE outbreak? since I put in around 200+ hours into that, although technically it wasn't all from a single playthrough.

The OP clearly specified "till the end." You can't play an MMO till the end.

You don't end MMOs, they end you.

112 hrs in FFXII and over 100 in Star Ocean :The Second Story.

 I don't know how i feel about that.  :o

#30 Edited by RandomInternetUser (6789 posts) -

I played WoW to almost "completion" during Burning Crusade.  My main character has over 100 days logged in to him.  Haven't played much in the last year and a half though.  Anyways, other than that I've played ME2 to completion in 40 hours, Dragon Age in 33.  I wasn't too big on RPGs until a couple years back, so I haven't played a ton before then.

Edit:  Ocarina of Time took me awhile to finish, I think I was like 8 or 9 when I played it.

#31 Posted by Brendan (7696 posts) -

I only played one character for Oblivion.  111 hours.
#32 Posted by scarace360 (4828 posts) -

persona 4 150 hours probably because i left the game running and fell asleep alot. pokemon yellow i have i don't even know like last time i check i had like 400 hours on that shit. Man i used to love pokemon.
And yes you can finish an mmo but it is almost impossible.

Same.  Nothing has ever come close to the 190 hours I put into P3.  I've done over 100 hours on a lot of other games, and there are some unbeaten games that could potentially replace it should I finish them up, but as it stands today, the 190 for P3 ranks at my top.  Now, WoW is far and above at the top of my "most hours spent playing" but that doesn't count because it's an MMO and unbeatable (in theory).

@gabha:
How's that going? Are you able to finish Oblivion?
#36 Posted by CornontheCobbe (2645 posts) -
@gabha: Oh right! I see. Thanks for confirming. Hmm, i have not experienced this with Oblivion out of all the countless hours on my 360 also, although i have experienced very slow loading times ever since i attacked those frozen people at Peryite's Daedric shrine.

Didn't know there was a bug in Megaton in F3 as-well!

I was going to type something like this out, but you saved me the time.

Thank ye, thank ye!

The amount of life I've spent on Oblivion (and DLC).  I had actually elected to not finish the main story line until all dungeons and side quests had been explored and looted.  I believe my character is level 44 or 46 with 300+ hours easy.   I will look for a clock on that game later to be sure myself!!    I always think, hmm 156 hours in a week, I've spent two full weeks of my life on this game....  man I need a life.
Good question and posts.  Any Final Fantasy game FF7 or greater for 2nd place in the hundreds of hours.
I would like to know how many total hours spent on all FF games.......  second thought no I dont want know.
#40 Posted by AndrewB (7519 posts) -

It depends on what you mean. The most time I've ever spent on a single game that I can recall would be... any one of the Pokemon games, clocking in at between 150 hours and 200+ hours per game set.  Of course, that was long asfter what could be considered the "end" of the game (beating the elite 4).

Oblivion or Fallout 3 would easily be the next set of contenders, with my current save on Fallout 3 clocking at about 180 hours, and that's only one save (I've played through the whole game before that with a different character, pre-DLC). Oblivion is difficult to clock because I've had at least a dozen different characters in that game, most of which I started and got a couple hours in before putting the game away and losing the save files. Still, I've played through to the end with two characters, and have a current save file going where I've set out to explore every dungeon in the game.

persona 3 or 4, if I do complete my NG+ run of persona 4.

well, I have spent more time playing team fortress 2, but that doesn't count

#46 Posted by Demyx (3237 posts) -

I wish I could look. Borderlands has around 87 hours with 2 characters. Fallout, 50 hours with 3 different characters. 1 on PS3 2 on 360. 119 hours in FFXII.

#47 Posted by sexy_nipples (66 posts) -

To beat the campaign once?

Baldurs Gate 2 took me 200 hours to complete one single game.

They don't make WRPGs like that anymore

#48 Posted by CannibalFerox (280 posts) -

Persona 4. 120 hours.

#49 Edited by Sticky_Pennies (2019 posts) -

Persona 4 was 90-something hours.

I had more than 60 days /played on a single WoW character. I just checked my Xfire profile and I have 2664 hours in WoW. God damnit.

Uhh... I think I maxed out the clock on Final Fantasy 6.

128 hours of Oblivion, 166 hours of Garry's Mod. Those and the WoW hours are both based on Xfire statistics, and I haven't used Xfire for like a year. I stopped playing WoW though.

#50 Posted by ahoodedfigure (4238 posts) -

I've never really thought about it this way...  how many hours I spent playing a single game straight through?  Man...  I have no idea.  I know some games have clocks but I rarely ever look at them.  I think I rolled a clock once, but...
