A game is a game - you can hopefully get the same quality game you want anywhere. So do frequent a particular place (or website) out of convenience or loyalty? Or maybe another reason?
There's a Best Buy and a GameStop pretty close to one another where I live, and I generally opt for Best Buy. The employees there are extremely nice and Best Buy has vastly better deals on games that have been out for a while. They're always helpful whenever I have questions so I like to give them the business. On the off-chance that I want to buy a PC game, Best Buy's selection is far better, too.
Where do you buy your games?
This. The past two times i bought games at kmart (Dead Rising & NBA 2k11) they gave me $20 credits to a future game purchase. so i'm just linking them back to back. kmart's service suck ass but they really want the sales." Amazon most of the time. Gamestop, Best Buy, and Target all get visited when there are sales. I would go to K-Mart too since for some reason they've started a hard Video Game Sales push lately, but there isn't one near my house. "
there's a GAME store right where I live, with very nice employees who I frequently end up having conversations with -- but i rarely buy games from them because their prices are ridiculous.
I think I most often end up buying my games at the local grocery store - they have a very small shelf of DVD's, CD's and games sold for something like 2 for $10, and I've found good deals there quite often.
Otherwise I usually buy my games from a couple of GameStop and GAME stores in the central district.
Gamestop, partly because I'm in the one fucking part of the country that doesn't seem to have douchebags behind the counter. All four or five Gamestops in my area have really cool employees, maybe because some of them are holdover employees from the EB Games buyout in my area.
Also, they've just begun a new rewards system, and while it's not AMAZING or anything, it's pretty decent. I'll be able to get some use out of it, anyways, because I like to sell games I don't need anymore.
Occasionally, I'll also pick up a game at Best Buy or Wal-Mart if it happens to be more convenient for me.
Coolshop and Gamestop.
Oh I know, I'm like making deals with the devil and stuff by going to gamestop.. Watch out..
oggedy boggedy boo!
Either the blockbuster two feet from my house, or if I'm downtown, the Game Centre which is an independent game store, pretty awesome selection, amazing prices on used stuff, and they have odd rarities and bits of gaming history that's fun to check out (copies of Steel Battalion with controller, or some Neo-Geo titles, or even sealed PS and Dreamcast games)
You know what I fucking hate? When the retailers put their logos on the box. For example the Walmart version of Enslaved had a big "Walmart Exclusive DLC" that was printed on. Why would you have it be on the box and not just be a sticker.
A lot of the time I buy from Amazon. But other times I buy from walmart, or best buy, or if it is a good deal (rarely it happens and I really hate them) gamestop.
steam and gamestop mostly. sometimes i will go to best buy to get a game. next town over there are 3 gamestops, two of them are at the mall, and a best buy. one of the stores is called soft ect. i think they are connected to gamestop though. i will also sometimes go to walmart to get a game if it is late at night.
