Poll: Which game are you picking up on the 20th? (512 votes)

Saints Row IV 56%
The Bureau X-Com 14%
Splinter Cell Blacklist 8%
Divekick 31%
None 27%
Other 4%

The 20th is a blockbuster date for games But what game or game`s will you guys be picking up ?

I am getting ready for GTA V so i will miss out on the top games of this month but i guess most of you guy`s will be "Rolling with the Saints" As the cool kids say.

It will be interesting to see how many of you will vote for The bureau as that game is a dark horse contender in this case.

While it'll be the 23rd for us in the UK (or the 22nd if I'm lucky), from that list it's Saints Row IV. Payday 2 and Tales of Xillia are my other August purchases for the month.

Red box was supposed to have Xcom but they dropped it from their list. Really pissed me of.

Divekick for sure. I'm in no hurry to get Saints Row 4.

I'm picking up Saints Row IV at my local GameStop's Splinter Cell midnight release.

#9 Posted by JackSukeru (5909 posts) -

Divekick x4, and then JoJo at the end of the month.

27th Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F, GOTY

Well finally I find someone else who is getting it. I thought I was the only one on here.

I'm getting yo moms for the night

#12 Posted by Coafi (1483 posts) -

Nada, I'll wait for a price drop for SRIV. If they had announced it before GTAV, I would gotten it instead but I'm already invested in getting GTAV. Plus, Volition will probably make GOTY Edition and if they do, I'll have to wait longer for that.

Splinter Row XI Blacklist Saint's: Duck Tales!

#18 Posted by Zeik (2342 posts) -

Whichever one costs me $0.

#19 Posted by Stonyman65 (2658 posts) -

Saints Row for sure.

I was really pumped for it to begin with, but after hearing so many people talk about how batshit insane it was, I just can't fucking wait to play it.

#20 Posted by jimmyfenix (3851 posts) -

Surprising to see divekick do well but Splinter cell has zero hype. BRING ME DRUNK IRONSIDE DAMMIT,

#21 Posted by Skyfire543 (675 posts) -

Divekick and Saints.

#22 Edited by SomeDeliCook (2272 posts) -

XCom for me is a positive, Saints Row 4 is a maybe. I might just wait until next month, but I hope none of the easter eggs or main story beats get ruined. Kotaku always likes to spoil easter eggs without giving a warning so I'll avoid that site for sure.

#23 Posted by OneKillWonder_ (1720 posts) -

Shit, I forgot Divekick is coming out the same day. I definitely want to play that eventually, but first and foremost it's Saint's Row for me.

Seems kind of silly to release all of these games on the same day when the weeks previous would've done fine for some of them. There is literally no hype for Splinter Cell. I wouldn't even have known it was coming out had I not checked the release schedule.

#24 Posted by Turtlebird95 (2343 posts) -

None for now. Saints Row looks okay but I'm not willing to throw down $60 on it right now. I might give Divekick a shot if some of my friends get it.

#25 Posted by FancySoapsMan (5814 posts) -

Nothing.

Gonna wait for the week after and get me some Killer Is Dead.

too bad it comes out on the first week the fall semester :(

#26 Posted by Animasta (14667 posts) -

Nothing.

I bought Europa Universalis 4 for the 13th though!

#27 Posted by mlarrabee (2910 posts) -

None of 'em. Since I'm currently out of a full time position, it's actually really nice that nothing has interested me in quite a while.

#28 Posted by Zacagawea (1588 posts) -

Divekick! I'll wait to see what Jeff thinks of SRIV.

The game that has a gun in which you shoot dubstep.

Edit: Now that I think about it, didn't Saints Row the Third and Xcom Enemy Unknown come out on the same day in 2011? If so, that's a hell of a coincidence.

#30 Posted by Giantstalker (1606 posts) -

Saints Row 4.

#31 Edited by Captain_Insano (1534 posts) -

Maybe Saints Row IV, although I was indifferent on Saints Row; The Third and would need to order an uncensored version from the UK anyway which would take a couple of weeks. I think I've got enough with Civ V to see me through til September 3 when Total War: Rome II comes out.

Saints Row 3 came out in 2011, XCOM came out in 2012.

I cant afford any, but Splinter Cell is the only one I would NOT want if I could. I never liked anything TC except Rainbow Six, and a late generation "Judgement/Ascension" entry in that series is even 10x less appealing.

Oh, that's right.

#35 Posted by JouselDelka (967 posts) -

Just Blacklist to play the co-op on the PC with my buddy.

SR4 looks lame and I need to finish Enemy Unknown before I play any other Xcoms.

I'm glad SC is low on the list. They really should just do a spin off and stop using that character and pretending its the same series, because its awful now (well tghe last one was, I dread the new one but we'll see).

I might get XCom and SR4. I am intrigued by XCom (less so since they changed it honestly) and SR4 is probably going to be awesome so why not? I'll be on vacation though, so we'll see.

#38 Posted by BeachThunder (11802 posts) -

Possibly Divekick :o

#39 Posted by Lord_Xp (602 posts) -

I'll be picking up The Sony Conference so I can see more details about the Ps4

#40 Posted by jimmyfenix (3851 posts) -

@lord_xp: Oh man i forgot that gamescom is on the same day!

#41 Posted by SunBroZak (1073 posts) -

College starts the day after, so it's probably not wise to go straight into a new game the day before. Though depending on the consensus of the console version of GTA V, I may buy that.

#42 Posted by Scampbell (496 posts) -

Spelunky is out tomorrow which should be enough for a while.

#43 Posted by crusader8463 (14419 posts) -

I preordered XCom and Total War: Rome II off of greenmangaming so that I could get like $25 in credits to put towards buying Saints Row 4 at half price. They don't seem to have Splinter Cell or I would have gotten that, but between SR4 and XCom on the same day I think I will wait on Splinter Cell to get a price drop. I'm only interested in that game for the Spy vs Mercs aspect as I remember playing that a long time ago long after everyone had stopped and falling in love with that. I managed to get on when there was a small group of like 20-30 people that played every night. Played that online nonstop for a month or two before I couldn't find others to play with.

#44 Edited by buft (3315 posts) -

the bureau simply because the price is right and steam have an amazing offer on preorders, the game also got onto my radar in a big way when i seen the quick look EX., i think i will pick up saints row the next week.

#45 Posted by Ben_H (3336 posts) -

Saints Row IV. At that point I will only have a week and a bit before school starts so I will be marathoning that game. I don't have any time this year to play games (though I somehow think I will find time to play GTA V) so I want to get a lot finished in summer. I also want to beat the new Mario & Luigi game by then.

#46 Posted by Humanity (9023 posts) -

From that list only Saints Row 4. The Bureau looks alright but not something I'm really pining to play day one.

I kinda want to double dip and get the English version of Project Diva F. It's not going to become Xenoblade-rare and overhyped right?

The Wonderful 101.

Unlike the rest of the people in this thread so far, I'm most hyped for Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Still, I'm not surprised to see it in the bottom of the poll, this is Giant Bomb after all, where Splinter Cell as a franchise is routinely glossed over by the staff and coolly received by the community at best.

Saints Row for sure, but maybe XCOM.

It seems to me that's the general reaction to SC games these days all over the internet. For me it's because they never made a good follow-up to Chaos Theory. Everything since has felt like a big step back.
