Which game are you picking up on the 20th?

While it'll be the 23rd for us in the UK (or the 22nd if I'm lucky), from that list it's Saints Row IV. Payday 2 and Tales of Xillia are my other August purchases for the month.

Red box was supposed to have Xcom but they dropped it from their list. Really pissed me of.

Nada, I'll wait for a price drop for SRIV. If they had announced it before GTAV, I would gotten it instead but I'm already invested in getting GTAV. Plus, Volition will probably make GOTY Edition and if they do, I'll have to wait longer for that.

I was really pumped for it to begin with, but after hearing so many people talk about how batshit insane it was, I just can't fucking wait to play it.

XCom for me is a positive, Saints Row 4 is a maybe. I might just wait until next month, but I hope none of the easter eggs or main story beats get ruined. Kotaku always likes to spoil easter eggs without giving a warning so I'll avoid that site for sure.

Shit, I forgot Divekick is coming out the same day. I definitely want to play that eventually, but first and foremost it's Saint's Row for me.

Seems kind of silly to release all of these games on the same day when the weeks previous would've done fine for some of them. There is literally no hype for Splinter Cell. I wouldn't even have known it was coming out had I not checked the release schedule.

None for now. Saints Row looks okay but I'm not willing to throw down $60 on it right now. I might give Divekick a shot if some of my friends get it.

Edit: Now that I think about it, didn't Saints Row the Third and Xcom Enemy Unknown come out on the same day in 2011? If so, that's a hell of a coincidence.

Maybe Saints Row IV, although I was indifferent on Saints Row; The Third and would need to order an uncensored version from the UK anyway which would take a couple of weeks. I think I've got enough with Civ V to see me through til September 3 when Total War: Rome II comes out.

I'm glad SC is low on the list. They really should just do a spin off and stop using that character and pretending its the same series, because its awful now (well tghe last one was, I dread the new one but we'll see).

I might get XCom and SR4. I am intrigued by XCom (less so since they changed it honestly) and SR4 is probably going to be awesome so why not? I'll be on vacation though, so we'll see.

College starts the day after, so it's probably not wise to go straight into a new game the day before. Though depending on the consensus of the console version of GTA V, I may buy that.

Spelunky is out tomorrow which should be enough for a while.

I preordered XCom and Total War: Rome II off of greenmangaming so that I could get like $25 in credits to put towards buying Saints Row 4 at half price. They don't seem to have Splinter Cell or I would have gotten that, but between SR4 and XCom on the same day I think I will wait on Splinter Cell to get a price drop. I'm only interested in that game for the Spy vs Mercs aspect as I remember playing that a long time ago long after everyone had stopped and falling in love with that. I managed to get on when there was a small group of like 20-30 people that played every night. Played that online nonstop for a month or two before I couldn't find others to play with.

Saints Row IV. At that point I will only have a week and a bit before school starts so I will be marathoning that game. I don't have any time this year to play games (though I somehow think I will find time to play GTA V) so I want to get a lot finished in summer. I also want to beat the new Mario & Luigi game by then.

From that list only Saints Row 4. The Bureau looks alright but not something I'm really pining to play day one.

I kinda want to double dip and get the English version of Project Diva F. It's not going to become Xenoblade-rare and overhyped right?

Unlike the rest of the people in this thread so far, I'm most hyped for Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Still, I'm not surprised to see it in the bottom of the poll, this is Giant Bomb after all, where Splinter Cell as a franchise is routinely glossed over by the staff and coolly received by the community at best.

It seems to me that's the general reaction to SC games these days all over the internet. For me it's because they never made a good follow-up to Chaos Theory. Everything since has felt like a big step back.
