I picked Skyward Sword because you can skip sidequests (if you don't care about completion I suggest you skip the base-jumping mini game to avoid controller throwing!) or fast forward through text or listen to podcasts if you need to speed things up due to your time limit. Also, it's pretty unique so you should definitely play it :)

I never played FF8, I hated Tales of Vesperias Combat, and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't even get past the first fight in Eternal Sonata and the story bits before that didn't do much of anything to make me want to try to get past it. I don't like Zelda games all that much, but I enjoyed Twilight Princess for what it was and that game seems to be just more of that so I guess the Zelda game gets my vote.

I can't vote for Skyward Sword because it isn't an RPG and has those god awful forced motion controls. Left with the other three options I am saying Vesperia. But yeah plenty of other RPG's would come in front of all three, some of them even JRPG's like Xenoblade.

I've played and beaten them all, here are my thoughts:

Tales of Vesperia > Eternal Sonata > Final Fantasy XIII

Skyward Sword is just different. What I would recommend is picking up ToV, beating that, and then taking a break from JRPGs with Skyward Sword. Then hop into Eternal Sonata. If you're still craving a JRPG, then move on to FFXIII. They're all good, but some are better.

Go with Eternal Sonata as it isn't very long, also the game definitely needs more love.

Skyward Sword! Then you can leave your Wii behind.

Eternal Sonata is good but really short for a JRPG so I would say Vesperia since I enjoyed it quite a bit more and the length is good.

Skyward Sword. I've only played it and a few chunks of FFXIII and I liked Skyward Sword so much more than what I played of FFXIII. Though judging by the list Tales of Vesperia is the way to go.

Hunh this thread is making me want to check out Tales. That wasn't the one I was going to guess was going to win. I've found the Tales series to be hit and miss. I'll have to give this one a look.

@Slag: Me too. Tales is the only on the list that i haven't played. After looking at it further its got me pretty interested.

Question to anyone who has played ToV. Does the combat get stale? Is there any strategy involved or is it just mashing buttons?
