Which VGA World Premiere Got You Most Excited?

There was a lot to be excited about with the world premiere announcements. Naughty Dog and Epic Games unveiled some new IPs they are working on, while we saw a glimpse of BioWare Victory getting into the RTS game with Generals 2 and PlatinumGames getting in bed with Kojima Productions for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. However, what got you most excited?

Personally, I love that Naughty Dog is tackling the infected/undead genre and can't wait to see more of what that game will be (more shooter than survival horror, or vice versa).

However, for anyone that knows me, I'm most excited about Alan Wake's American Nightmare. Alan Wake was my #2 game of 2010, so getting more is always a good thing. I'm curious how this plays into the overall story or if it's a separate thing altogether.

I'm also very curious about Fortnite. Epic doing a game that isn't "realistic" in look is interesting, and the art style really grabbed me.

Also, while I understand a lot of people are a bit...up-in-arms...about MGR, I have one word: PlatinumGames. That is the sole thing that has me interested in that game, but I'm hoping it will have some depth to it like Bayonetta.

The only thing that seemed interesting to me was the Tony hawk stuff. I loved the old Tony hawk games.

The Last of Us. Naughty Dog, probably character driven survival game? I'm in.

None, because I didn't watch the VGAs. I can imagine you're pretty jealous.

Metal Gear Rising for sure. Platinum does good work.

It's a tie between Alan Wake and The Last of Us.

The Last of Us has potential. But honestly Fall of Cybertron trailer gave me goosebumps, thought the trailer was awesomely done, catered very well to the younger me. ME3 had a shitty trailer, felt the same about Rising, i would probably rather watch Raiden and Vamp have a short sex scene than play 6-12 hours of slice and dice.

I also found it pretty interesting that Bioware will be doing the next CnC Generals, and with Frostbyte 2.0, that's pretty cool to me. More Frostbyte less Unreal Engine please.

The Last Of Us

Easily Metal Gear Rising, looking forward to seeing what Platinum does with that and it's nice to see a trailer with some actual gameplay in it for a change.

I'm really excited for Generals 2. Command and Conquer: Generals and Generals: Zero Hour are my all-time favourite RTS games, so a sequel is pretty appealing.

Metal Gear Rising. A Platinum game with a character that I like is an exciting proposition. Definitely looking forward to that.

Last of Us and Metal Gear Rising look cool. Not exciting but cool.

The rest of them were boring and I really regretted watching that human rights violation of a show just to see them.

The Last of Us and Metal Gear Rising have me most interested. One game for a console I don't even own, and the other for a series that I really do not care for at all, which I guess is slightly funny. Naughty Dog is a fantastic developer, though, and I've wanted to see them tackle a darker and more violent game for the longest time. Still...I can't help but be disappointed that they're not doing another Jak yet. As for MGR, like I said, I've never really been a fan of the series, but this game looks like a ton of ridiculous fun. And being that both Bayonetta and Vanquish are awesome, having Platinum Games make this can only mean good.

Fortnite could also be pretty cool, though it seems like a weird genre for Epic to take on. As for Alan Wake, looks like more of the same, and I really didn't feel the first was compelling enough, from either a story or gameplay standpoint, to warrant another one without some major changes. I guess I'll wait and see, though.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD

The Last of Us isn't going to be the zombie/infected survival game people like us want, because a game where you actually struggle to survive doesn't have mass market appeal, that's the realm of indie games. They'll make the Last of Us a big budget action packed adventure game with a slightly darker than normal atmosphere and sell a billion copies.

Pro Skater HD for me, I never played 1 and 2 is one of my favorite games ever.

American Nightmares looked cool(trailer with gameplay!) but I never played Alan Wake. It has to be the next game I play... after Rayman Origins.

Bioshock looks sick too but trailer wasn't too different then anything already shown. Disappointed in the Mass Effect 3 trailer, love the series but the second half of this trailer was basically 2 giant creatures fighting. Not enough gameplay for me.

Nothing knocked my tits off. If I had to pick something I'd say Fortnight. 
 
 It was not what I was expecting, probably not what I'm thinking and I have no opinion on the art style yet, but the scrounge/survive cycle vibe it gave was interesting.

I have trouble deciding between The Last of Us, Fortnite, and MGR. The Last of Us really looks like more of the same of what Naughty Dog has been doing well, even if it looks really good. Fortnite was just super-bizarre, and while I can't say I'm excited yet, I want to know a lot more as soon as possible. And then there's MGR, which actually looked pretty awesome and I have a lot of fondness for Platinum Games, but after MGS4 I'm worried I might be completely done with that era of Metal Gear Solid. I'll play through Peace Walker sometime soon as I now know what that game really is (and it's AWESOME) but the post MGS2-stuff might be done for me.

I guess I'd say I'm most excited for MGR? Of the three, I think it has the most potential to be good.

Diablo 3

Last of Us looks interesting but yeah, what other guy said: the likelihood this has the nuance and more character-driven stuff rather than the "Uncharted" way of doing things has me skeptical. And I thought MGR looked silly, especially that name. "Revengeance"?

Mass Effect 3 got me the most excited, while Alan Wake left me the most confused. Is now Mr. Scratch bad?! Looks like a third person co-op/competitive game, but is it really?

I have no goddamn clue as to what Fortnite is, but if it involves building, survival co-op and that weird artstyle, then I'm basically already in.

The real world premieres to me were The Last of Us, Command and Conquer, and Fortnite. Everything else was already announced or was expected. This VGA's sucked ass more then last years. Anyways, in only excited for The Last of Us. I don't have a 360 to get excited for Alan Wake. Fortnite was a disappointing announcement to me. I don't play RTS's so C&C; was blah. I'm excited for Transformers because that awesome trailer. The rest of the trailers were alright.

About an hour before they showed The Last of Us trailer I was watching that MGR trailer on a loop and couldn't stop laughing at its stupidity/brilliance. The Last of Us was clearly the best trailer shown though.

I would have liked to have said the new CNC game, but since it's still a year off and the trailer showed dick all I guess it won't be that. I guess the Naughty Dog and Epic games both looked cool, but as they will both end up most likely being some kind of shooters that will never see the light of day on PC I can't get too excited for them; I despise playing shooters with controllers.

Would be excited for The Last of Us if I felt like getting a PS3. Also, Sony most likely won't let it turn into a character-driven survival game like everyone thinks it will. My guess? It'll turn out to be either a third-person zombie shooter, or something akin to Dead Island, but in a post-apocalyptic city. But it is Naughty Dog making it, so I guess that's a plus. The new MGS game didn't look that appealing either, tbh.

Fall of Cybertron looks promising. The trailer was amazing, and I'm hoping the gameplay will be solid enough to convince me to get it.
