We all are here on GiantBomb.com because we love video games! But who is in your opinion the best at making them and why?
Who is your favorit game developer and why?
Bioware and Nintendo, for consistently putting out really great games.
Bungie, for how much support they give to their fans.
And Twisted Pixel, they've only put out a few indie games, but they've been awesome and absolutely hilarious.

AGENT ? GET MOTHERFUCKING HYPE
RED DEAD DECEPTION ? GUN SLINGING HYPE
Blizzard, not only do they create a top-of-the-line single-player experience, their multiplayer is so amazing that I can always count on my friends to buy every Blizzard release that comes along.
Atlus- they make the best dungeon crawlers
Frictional Games- They know how to make games scary
Nis- they also make good, grindy RPG's
I'm gonna forgo the big companies and say Introversion. They're games are simple, in presentation and gameplay. Generally, their appeal last about a week or so, until you get tired of it. But despite that, their games are so incredibly well designed. They're incredible at picking a game concept and then expounding on it, including major and minor touches that go a long way towards making the game feel great. They try out concepts that most would never touch, and build games out of them that no one else would. Uplink is a great example of building a fun and interesting game around an idea and gameplay system no one would have thought of. Defcon too nailed the idea of playing a general sitting in a war room (Population death counts as a measure of score? Brilliant). Multiwinia/Darwinia are also great, with a great sense of humor and a commitment to making an RTS that was simple, crazy and fun (there's monster and magical forests for Christ's sakes!); who ever would have though a control scheme bordering on first person would ever work in an RTS?
I can't wait for their next project. Once again they're showing the ingenuity to take a super cool concept and to make a unique game out of it, full of all the little touches you'd hope for.
Bethesda; they maybe jank city but they're aiming to make the games i would make if i could make games.
Rockstar Games. Two words: The Warriors (and some other games you might've heard of)
Overall favorite? Probably GameFreak. I've logged more hours into GameFreak Games than probably any other company's games ever, and even a few companies combined.
The people who started out at Capcom Production Studio 4 and then moved on to Clover Studio, and later Platinum Games.
They brought us Devil May Cry (the best 3D beat 'em up at the time of its release), Viewtiful Joe (one of the best 2D beat 'em ups at the time of its release), Resident Evil 4 (the best third-person shooter at the time of its release, with the Wii Edition being my current favorite third-person shooter), God Hand (still the best 3D beat 'em up), Okami (still the best Zelda-style 3D action adventure), Bayonetta (currently my second favorite 3D beat 'em up), Vanquish (currently my second favorite third-person shooter) -- and the list goes on. The day they leave the industry will be a very sad day indeed.
From Software: I like how they went from Armored Core mech sims to Demon's Souls, to publishing 3D Dot Game Heroes.
Atlus: Makers of the Megami Tensei, Persona and Etrian Odyssey games, they always make a compelling setting for their titles, though sometimes mired by archaic mechanics. Our would that be retro?
Platinum Games: Somehow able to make ideas from fever dreams, drunken frenzies or drugs into really playable games.
VanillaWare: Dem's purty 2D sprites there.
Then again, I think I'm cynical enough to drop my favourites at the first stinker... God, I'm a dick.
" Platinum Games. The do shit that other companies are too afraid to try, and they do it well. "
" @FancySoapsMan: Atlus doesn't make the games. They just port them. "I was talking about the MegaTen franchise.
