Frigging looking at Gametrailers and all the E3 trailers are being released pre E3 and it's frigging annoying. This is why watching E3 throughout the 3 days is boring as hell because we know about everything before hand. I mean why can't they spread the content out evenly throughout the 3 days instead of everything before hand and all the 3 days serve as is to give enough time for each gaming site to give out the same frigging preview.

Every E3 it's been like the 3 big press confs where all the fanbois get excited and theres some really kool announcements. Then the first day theres some suprises but you've seen all the trailers and announcements anyways. Then day 2 and 3 are boring as hell cause theres nothing left to find out about apart from all the crappy indie games and mods noone cares about.

Like why can't the organise the content to be announced throughout the 3 days? It's not gonna hurt anyone to wait a day or two, if anything games will get lost in the big announcements on the first day and press confs. It would serve them better to announce them on day 2 or 3 where it's quiet and noones excited anymore.

Just pisses me off.

You could stop searching this stuff out until the show starts, you know. If you want to be surprised, then wait and be surprised. I haven't seen any of these trailers, been too busy.

Trust me, there will be plenty of new stuff debuted at the show that nobody on these boards has seen.

Some of these companies are releasing the trailers now because, once the actual E3 comes, it might get lost in the shuffle.

It is most likely to drum up some quick hype for their games in hopes of getting more coverage once E3 opens. They are running businesses here, not a surprise birthday party.

Yeah, what's being released is just a pre-hype tease.  It's to get everyone even more excited by what is to follow next week.  There is a strong chance that many of the game trailers we see today will be playable at the conference or have some greater details exhibited to the press.  I expect the major websites as well as G4 to have much more in depth coverage of games like Mass Effect 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Brutal Legend.  There will be a lot more information on these games uncovered when the journalists have a chance to ask questions of the spokespeople and give the titles a hands-on looksee, as well.  Next week, there will be lots of stuff written and recorded to surprise us.

I'm hoping it's because there are so many higher profile trailers to be released during E3 that they're getting the less important stuff out early, because it'd be ignored otherwise.

It's two fold. Most of what's coming out is a teaser for E3. But also there's a chance it may get lost.

Sony held a pre-E3 conference like two months ago. Why? To allow journo's to write up all their stuff before the show. Thus, at the show they have more time to write about other stuff. Also it means that all that Sony stuff, the smaller announcements, such as Uncharted multiplayer, etc don't get overshadowed by the bigger stuff.

Capcom do the same thing with Captivate. Bethesda did it when they shipped Jeff off to London. It's all about timing really. Everyone wants to be on the frontpage - but during the actual E3 show, they haven't got a chance in hell. I mean, let's pretend that Microsoft showed the XBOX 720 (it's not going to happen but, just imagine) - there'd be no room for a trailer for Batman Arkham Asylum next to a new XBOX would there?

Cinematic teaser trailers now to build hype for the game. They will show gameplay/have playable builds at the show. (Which is what people really wanna see anyways.)

There's going to be so much stuff at the show that it makes sense to release a teaser sort of trailer or something before, especially if you have a lower profile game that might otherwise slip under peoples radar.  It makes sense.  Keep in mind some of these are just putting the game in your mind with brief teasers or cinematics, while others are revealing large portions of what they're showing at E3.
