Simple question. Why are you at Giant Bomb?

For me its the staff and forum. Jeff, Ryan, Brad and Vinnie are awesome. I don't think I would be here if the staff was different.
Also the forum is better than most other gaming forums.

The whole Kayne and Lynch thing got me interested and I heard about what Jeff was doing, so I've been following GB since the first episode of How to Build a Bomb.

it is better than gamespot

The staff and forums. Also a new beginning. I wasn't really active or well-known at GS and here I hope to become more active in the community and have the possible long shot of being a mod. I have been helping edit pages and I have added a game. I really like that we can help edit the site ourselves.

The community and the idea of the website.

#6 Posted by BeyondPerfection (49 posts) -

Staff.

I don't really like the forums, but that's probably cause i'm so used to the "Xbox 360, Playstation 3, General Discussion, etc." traditional layout.

Because of the guys running it, always trusted their insight and opinions in gaming. And the podcasts are hellafun. I just hope more video content is on the way, and it will be iPod downloadable :)

Also I like this whole community focus. I have never really been into it before, but this seems like attracting good good gamers.

I liked Jeff's reviews on GS and kind of followed him here. PA's comic about him made me laugh too.

#9 Posted by MsCortana (429 posts) -

It would be fair to say the community, as many have migrated from Gamespot.  Although, I must say once here, I found myself quite intrigued with the features this particular site offers as opposed to other gaming sites.

The staff as well as being part of a community from the beginning once again. After the Kane and Lynch debacle I've just been wandering from forum to forum and I am happy that the GB forums are finally up...Hooray!

Being a part of something new and sure to be great, always cool.

#14 Posted by Hungry_bunny (421 posts) -

The staff and I wanted to see this site take off from the start, it's obviously gonna become huge soon enough.

#15 Posted by MutenMiller (216 posts) -

Originally because of the staff. I was a huge fan of the site that shall not be named because of how much fun the podcast was, as well as all the video coverage. When nearly all the people who made that content great were over here making Giant Bomb happen, it was obvious. I also am really loving these forums though. It's great to be here at the start of a forum and be a small part of its growth.

Staff is reputable, good build up to the site launch and I like the features of the website.

#17 Posted by Why_So_Serious (803 posts) -

Plus you get that sort of feeling when you stick with a site from day one. Your loyal and you can watch as it grows. Think of how good this site will be in a year.

The community and staff.

When everyone that I cared for at Gamespot left, I pretty much left there as well. I started reading Jeff's blog and from there was led to Giant Bomb.

Jeff and co.

Gives the place more of a friendly vibe. Plus I love the whole Wiki type database here.

#21 Posted by thebipsnbeeps (553 posts) -

I came here because of the staff at first, and then I got interested in all of their very entertaining videos and podcasts. Then when Brad and Vinny joined it got even better. I'm also a fan of all of their reviews, but I have to say, I'm now loving all the various forums and pages.

That pretty much sums it up, doesn't it?  I value a good and honest opinion.  I don't necessarily have to agree with everything Jeff, Ryan, Brad and Vinny have to say, but I like that I can believe that their opinions aren't pure bullshit and that they acknowledge their biases up front.  I know that Jeff isn't in to Star Wars. Brad let it be known before his review of Lego Indy that it was a game he wanted to like and we all know that none of the four are really into sports games.

Admitting those sort of things gives the site a fresh feeling.  Never mind all the community based things going on here!  Plus, the Giant Bombcasts are hilarious!!  The whole site has an uncensored kind of feeling to it.  A feeling that it caters to gamers and games first.

When the novelty of Giantbomb being a new site wears off, I have a feeling that those are the things that are going to keep me around, but they're also the things that brought me here.

I love the staff here with their writing styles and humor.

It really gives this place a happy atmosphere when you start off strong with four great writers. Plus I can tell that reviews here won't be influenced by money.

What he said.

Plus I think the editorial content here is of a higher caliber than that of GS right now, even though it's a bit more lighthearted

Because Jeff and crew are pretty cool and I really liked the site even before the forums and stuff were up.

#27 Posted by Zoidberg (175 posts) -

I like the editing stuff. And the forums are nice.

#28 Posted by Nemesis (317 posts) -

The staff, and because of the community involvement in the site. Also lot of cool features, etc...

#29 Posted by Shade (120 posts) -

I've liked the staff at Giant Bomb ever since the gamespot days. I also needed a gaming related forum to go to. I didn't think I'd like the wiki at first, but after making several submission it's actually kinda fun =)

#30 Posted by aemaeth (220 posts) -

Jeff has kept me entertained since back in 98, and I've been intrigued in this site "blowing up" due to the blogs, podcasts, videos etc.

#31 Posted by mgsninja (26 posts) -

The bombcast, editorial staff and the new wiki site.

#32 Posted by Blu_Magic (2021 posts) -

The staff is awesome and the forums are pretty cool too.

#35 Posted by Rain_Dog (219 posts) -

I like the staff a lot, and I feel like this is one of the very few credible gaming publications out there.

#36 Posted by DJ_LaFleur (178 posts) -

I heard alot about GB from gamespot and was curious and decided to check this place out and make a profile.
