nobody is posting any reviews? are they under embargo? seems fishy.
Why arent there any Modern Warfare 3 Reviews out?
Some dudes took off with a bunch of copies so the reviewers couldn't get any.
Or maybe they saw the amount of hate they were getting for not giving popular games an instant 10/10, couldn't do it for MW3, and decided not to review it at all.
Alright, in all seriousness, I don't know.
Not really. There are lots of embargo. And also if someone is gonna buy this game they are not gonna read a review. Chances are 90% of the people who will buy this game wont even look for a review.Im actually a MW3 fan.
But isnt it customary for reviews to be out few days before launch?

You're right!

Activision does not need any added press from review sites to help sell this game. They invest heavily in advertising and EVERYONE knows when this game is coming out. Many games need the approval of some of these review sites before consumers will buy but this franchise is not one of those games. It could also mean that MW3 is a giant POS that all the review sites rated below a 9 and activision made it clear that making that known before launch would equal no more activision access ever.
Wait, does it really matter what the review scores are? Even if the game was rated 1/10, do you think a MW2/BlackOps player wouldn't buy it? It's MW2 with a map pack and a couple new game modes.

Just for the record, I am still going to buy it though, lol. Even if it was rated terribly!

i dont know i think the advertising was kinda low for MW3 especially compared to BF3
MW3 didn't need to advertise as heavily. MW3 has nothing to prove to sell a boatload of copies. Battlefield did.

ya and BF3 disappointed but the advertisement helped.
I think the advertising made it worse. They advertised this game to be the next modern warfare when it's not, it's a completely different experience, for a different kind of gamer. I love BF3, but I wish the advertising would go away, it's leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
it could ether be that activision feels like it will sell a bajillion copys regardless of reviews so they just haven't sent them out. or that its actually bad this time without the creative team and they were afraid that expectations would be too high
edit yea with 2 and a half hours ontill release here its still got a NA on metacritic with no reviews http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3/critic-reviews
The only time something like this smells fishy, is if the reviewers don't even get review copies. Then it kind of leads me to believe the game might be crap.

I don't need a review for MW3 to tell me to buy MW3.I myself got a good bit nervous about it, but later went by steam and happened to find somone with my name and address pre-ordered it, for me. So I guess you are right.....I wonder if it has a zombie mode.
Well I think the zombie mode might be a Treyarch-only thing. Wait, was there a zombie mode in the other Modern Warfare games?

No...only zombies preordering COD/MW without a proper review.
Publishers will usually lift a games embargo well before the release date if they're confident in the games success (Uncharted, Arkham City, etc)
In this case, with so much hype and so much on the line as far as if infinity ward is able to deliver given what happen after MW2, and whether it can compete with BF3, surely Activision probably doesn't want some reviewers voicing their opinion how this game might not live up the standards that have been set (regardless if it does or doesn't) and have that alter peoples decision to buy the game.
Not to mention you know most reviewers probably won't give the SP a spectacular approval which will certainly affect the score.
So yeah, it's best for Activision to let the hype train keep on rolling till the very last minute and then let people come to their own decisions...after they spent the money to do so.

Embargo's end at different times for different games. Marketing people decide. On what logic? Who knows. I'm pretty sure every CoD game since 4 has had the same embargo. It lifts at midnight the morning of it's release.
Pardon my serious lack of knowledge in this industry, but do companies also embargo rights to announce games as well?
