Other sites seem to gather the trophy information using nothing more than the psn name and your email address. (Playfire, MMOS)
Sony doesn't release the necessary data often enough or detailed enough for GB to implement trophy tracking. They do release it to some extent, but not nearly as well as XBL or Steam or WoW does.
They are working on it, it's one of the bigger things on the list. Like a few podcasts ago they were talking about maybe breaking out DLC points from retail game, and Jeff said that getting the trophy stuff in was higher on the list. It's not GB's fault it's on Sony's end they don't make it really friendly. So stop crying they are working on it.

No not at all, if you listen to the bombcast ( i cant tell you exactly which one ) , they said they are working on it. Its a matter of sony playing nice and making a compatible API from which giantbomb can feed from. At least thats what i gathered.
Sony has released new information regarding trophies but it still is unclear if it is enough. Jakob187 said a few things that I haven't heard, but I haven't listened to the most recent Bombcast yet so it may be there. Anyway, they will put it up when they can.
the sony stuff is pretty shitty from what I can see, it's updated on the official site all the time but I put a card-link into a site like giant bomb and its out of date by like 2 or 3 months.
@keyhunter: Dead wrong, loads of people on the site have PS3's and the ratio of, ' give a shit about Trophies' is about as equal to 360 users who give a shit about achievements.

Loads of people that use GiantBomb also have a PS3. Just because its not important to you doesn't mean anything. Douche.
I'm pretty sure Sony just recently released their API, allowing for more tracking abilities. If I'm correct, it's on their ever expanding "to do" list.
Because people who haven't been paying attention, and don't know that Sony refuses to give away it's API, do not deserve to see their trophies on GB. Simple.
But wait, Sony is changing it's API policy? Then ya, it must be in the works. Someone have a link?

It kinda sad really that Sony seems to think that community is low on their priority list. I guess the 360 works because they put community features first. I still love my PS3 though.
