Wii U or PS Vita - Which do you see yourself purchasing?

A simple question.  Knowing what we know as of today, which of the new devices shown at this year's E3 do you see yourself purchasing next year or reasonably soon there after?  Do you like the PS Vita and it's console on-the-go technology?  Or, are you taken by Nintendo's new Wii U with its inter-connectivity?  Of course, there is the possibility that neither appeal to you and you're satisfied with the status quo.  I know, I know...it's all about the games, but for today, at least, let's use our imaginations and personal biases and just decide one way or the other.

Both next summer. Although one is a new console and handheld and the other is just handheld.

What's the point in choosing between a home console and a portable? They are meant for different things. If I had to choose only one, I would always choose the home console, because I drive myself places.

Vita. I'm one of the few people who actually likes playing console games on a handheld. If someone hacks it for homebrew I'll buy it day one. 
 
I already own a screenless Wii U. Its called an XBox 360.

Ask me again when they have established libraries, or at least more information.

Neither. The Vita seems cool, but the AT&T thing kills it for me, and yeah, I'm gonna play Arkham City on that Xbox I've already spent money on.

Wii U. I'm reserving judgement on the Vita. Remember how awesome the PSP looked before it came out?

Also, I thought NGP was a way better name than Vita.

I was pleased with what I saw of the Vita, but I'd be lying to myself if I said I wasn't going to buy a new Nintendo console. We're still more than a year out, so who's to say what changes or new information will be revealed.

I don't play handhelds, so WiiU.

Vita. We'll see about the WiiU. Nintendo has yet to convince me that they are taking online gaming seriously.

Neither any time soon unless I win the lotto. Neither of them have shown any games worth buying yet

I don't want to spend money on a next gen console that has a library of games that I can play with the consoles I already own. I'll wait for MS' and Sony's consoles.

I don't want a PSV for the same reason I didn't want a PSP. I have a PS2 and PS3. I didn't want a worse version of both when I already owned them.

I think I will invest in a new PC instead.

One is a home console and the other is a portable, I don`t see why you would want to compare the two.

I didn't buy a Wii, so I'll likely pass over the WiiU as well.

The Vita however will be mine day one.

It's possible that I'll end up with both at some point, but right now I'm mainly interested in the Vita.

As much as I veer away from new fangled shinies, I imagine I'll be buying the Vita not long after its release. I've enjoyed my PSP greatly (tactical jrpgs are meant for handhelds), and am anxious to see what games Vita will have to offer.

We know nothing about either console game-wise. The WiiU didn't show us anything that isn't already available on other consoles and the only worthwhile things we've seen from the Vita are Uncharted and the new Vanillaware game. If Nintendo does release a Zelda game that looks like the one they showed, its an easy choice.

Dude..... It's a console that can stream games to the controller, how hard can that be to understand? it is not a handheld, what they showed was the controller.

No, sorry, I meant the Wii U as a console confuses me, but I know I don't want the NGP because I don't really use handhelds. I Chose the Wii U.

Vita for me

I'll buy both. I already pre-ordered a Vita (yes, Amazon's taking preorders), and I haven't owned a Nintendo home console since the N64, so it's about time I get something from them. Also, the fact that it plays supports Wii games/controllers helps out a lot.

All things being equal (price, number of games at launch, etc), I would totally go with the Wii U.  The PSV looks like a portable PS3...which is cool, but the Wii U looks like nothing I've really ever seen before.

One is another iphone (have one already) and the other can't be used without a Wii. I'll be getting a 3DS

WiiU will be great. Some losers are just hellbent on not liking anything Nintendo shows anymore, and they can safely be ignored at this point. Im really concerned about the handheld market in general and where its going, both 3DS and Vita. So I'll wait on that shit for sure.

That said, I fully plan on picking up a Vita, and have no interest in the Wii U.

yes this sir. I don't understand why anyone out of high school- maybe college would even buy a handheld. Why would you play a handheld at home when you could be playing a far superior console. Even if they had great games, not just shitty ass console spinoffs I couldn't think of a time I would use one.

I don't know what to make of the Wii U, straight up weirdness.

Vita (first) Definitely... but I'm kinda interested in both... It's a little early to say though...

The Vita looks pretty cool, so I'll probably get that soon after release. Not sure how to feel about the WiiU, though.
