Will There Be a GDC Stream This Year?

I don't think it's been made clear whether they're going to be doing one this year or not. Rorie said something about "GDC next week" on GB Unplugged, but Jeff didn't mention it at all at the end of UPF. I loved the last 2 GDC streams, so it'll be a bummer if there won't be one this year (at least there's hope for a BLLS this year)

I've been wondering the exact same thing. The GDC stream last year was fantastic. Was the first time they had Rami on the couch IIRC, and he was awesome

I will be very disappointed if there are no GDC streams this year. The GDC and E3 live streams are my favorite feature on the site. If there is a stream I hope they get Jonathan Blow on. He's always great on the streams.

I remember them saying that it overlaps with PAX too much to cover properly.

Jeff said in the latest Jar Time that there will be a BLLS.

It would be great for something but I think PAX East might be their focus. Maybe some dump truck interviews hopefully!

I don't think so. The staff have not said there was going to be one and it is not on the front page. If there was going to be one they would have said something during UPF.

Well for what it's worth Danny has been posting some GDC type folks will be swinging over tomorrow at 2pm, better than nothing.

They're not even doing UPF this Friday, so a GDC stream seems very unlikely.

Yeah, it's a huge bummer, the GDC bombcasts/streams are easily some of the best videos on the site. I greatly prefer the in-depth "real talk" of GDC over the exaggerated performances at the PAX panel.

Honestly I'd much rather have GDC content than PAX content, but I expect the events overlap so much that it would be difficult to even get developers to do it because they're likely attending both.

@hunter5024: I agree with you that the PAX content when viewed at home is weaker then GDC content, because the former caters to a live crowd.

Actually being at their panels though is such a blast. Loved every second when I first went to the panels last year. I plan to go again this year as well.

GDC/E3 after hours > PAX panel.

Won't be the same, but Danny's doing GDC stuff on The Lobby tomorrow.
