Wing Commander Saga finally released!

The Fan Project "Wing Commander Saga: The Darkest Dawn" is finally released after being in the works for 10 years. The project is apparently not sanctioned by EA and is based on the Freespace 2 open source engine code.

Currently the site seems to be getting hammered, but you might find various download links herelater.

Hopefully this will capture the old Wing Commander spirit or at least gives Vinny new material for his flightstick or leads to some Flight Club antics.

Oh, sweet. I've been looking forward to this since I played the several-mission-long beta/demo a while back. I didn't know when they started ramping up production, because it looks like the team added an insane amount of content in a relatively short amount of time.

So basically what you're saying is: download it now before it gets pulled by EA?

@AndrewB: Probably. According to this entryon the site there were no talks between them and EA. So maybe if it gets too popular the cease aand desists might still come...
