I have both of them in my Steam library waiting to be played, but I don't know which one I should play first. Both of them look pretty amazing to be honest, and I can't make up my mind. Which of them do you recommend the most?

I haven't played Deus Ex, but I'm gonna guess I would vote for The Witcher 2 anyway. If you played the first Witcher, the second one is better. Also, it's a perfect example as to why fantasy can still be awesome.

I didn't particularly enjoy Deus Ex much at all. I played for around 10 hours or so (I think), and basically thought "Yup, I've seen enough of this."

The WItcher 2, however, I'd rank up there with the all time greats. It has an incredibly immersive world, solid combat, decent writing and it looks like the tits.

Of course, opinions.

Deus Ex is shorter and doesn't have as involved of a story. So I'd say go with that first.

I'd rather play Witcher 2. I have little interest in Deus Ex.

Deus Ex: HR was my favorite game last year, so...

It's also shorter than The Witcher 2.

Deus Ex is probably easier than Witcher 2 as well.

Witcher 2 is a much better game then Deus Ex, but as long as you do yourself the favor of playing the Witcher 2 at some point soon it doesn't really matter which you boot up first.

I haven't played The Witcher 2, but I have played The Witcher 1, and while that game is good, I would pick Deus Ex HR over it if I had to choose between the two.

It's worth keeping in mind that Deus Ex HR isn't without its problems, but it's still a good game.

@believer258: That isn't really a fair comparison; The Witcher 1 and the Witcher 2 are drastically different experiences. The Witcher 2's combat is much more streamlined, the dialouge and voice acting are much improved, and its graphics are some of the best in the industry. As much as I enjoyed Deus Ex Hr, and while I would rate it above the original Witcher, The Witcher 2 is one of the best games I have ever played, so It's my pick.

That said, both are amazing games, and if you intend to play both of them, I don't think it really matters which you play first.

Funny thing just finished Deus Ex 2nd play through & i enjoyed it very much but i would go with The Witcher 2 as i found it more enjoyable even though both games are great but sometimes the pacing of Deus Ex sometimes drags.

The Witcher 2 is a much more engaging game. I enjoyed it a lot, even more so than Skyrim. I didn't even bother finishing Deus Ex.

Deus Ex for sure. Witcher 2 is plagued with a really horrible UI (PC version), gamepad support that is kinda broken (PC version), and the pacing sucks. I actually even beat Witcher 1 before it and can't make sense of the story. The bright side of Witcher 2 is that its an amazing looking game and you'll be constantly amazed by how it looks.

Edit: I should say the reason why gamepad support is a bad thing is because the UI is obviously designed for it. And even though it is it's still a horrible UI.

they're both good. The way I solve these dilemmas is I flip a coin, and if I get one game and I'm making excuses to myself to play the other one than I play the other one.

Witcher 2 for me, never really liked the Deus Ex games as much as other people for some reason... although I do own all the games.

If you're gonna play both anyway, go with Deus Ex first because you can finish it faster.

Deus Ex is good (bit rough in certain aspects); The Witcher 2 is great.

This is a really tough decision (harder than I thought), but I'd go with the Witcher 2. I simply liked it better.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is still fantastic, though.

Deus Ex is great, but man, the boss fights were terrible with a big T.

Deus Ex. It's shorter anyway, so you can get it out of the way, but it's also pretty damn good. Game of the Year good.

I've yet to be able to get into The Witcher 2, but that's totally a personal thing. Just don't care for the combat.

I have yet to play a significant amount of The Witcher 2, but it already seems a lot better than the first one. Deus Ex HR is fantastic... assuming you put points into the typhoon and spam that during the otherwise abysmal boss fights. It's also, I imagine, significantly shorter. So do that one first.

Eh, well, I don't know much about The Witcher 2.

I would go with the Witcher 2. Deus Ex: HR start strong but it kind of fell flat for me, in the end.

The Witcher 2, easily. Deus Ex: HR was a bad game even before the comparison to The Witcher 2, though.

Tough choice. Deus Ex: HR is easier to burn through. The Witcher 2 is also a fairly good experience. Trust your gut.
