Now I bet that I am not the only one who is going to buy a black Wii just for the color; IF that black Wii and accesories are coming out here to America later on in the year. (which I bet it will)

So lets say that the new color does makes itself out of Japan and comes here to America, and I buy it even though I have owned a Wii since launch, my parents would more than likely look down on me, thinking how rediculous it would be for me to do that. So to make them TRY to understand why I made such a purchase, I'll come up with some bull shit answer and say that the old Wii is the family's Wii and that the new one is MINE and only my Wii, of which I could do whatever I like with it.

Now most of you reading this probably don't give a shit about my plan . . . OH WELL :D

So now to my question.

If you already own a Wii, and Nintendo makes an announcement that the black Wii is coming out to America, would you buy it just because of it's color?

Fuck no I would not buy another one. Nobody that comes over is impressed by a game console's color, and a black console does not make shit like Ninjabread Man any more fun.

If you want to have a backup Wii, or one for another room in your house even, that's fine.  But buying a new piece of expensive hardware because of different color plastic that won't affect the product's performance at all is frankly idiotic.  These companies want their customers to do that, different colored PSPs, people who bought an Elite 360 not because of features but because of the plastic.  It's disgusting and if that's all people want out of their consumer products, we're all headed for one shitty future.

Still, a color being a "feature" ? They also never promised, they showed a bunch of colors and weren't sure which would be used.

Right now, there aren't enough Wii games to make me want to spend $150 plus game prices. But with Punchout, the Mario Galaxy's, and this new Mario (and eventually a new Zelda), it's getting close. And the fact that the black Wii will match my 360 (and future PS3) is a bonus. The color isn't a big deal by any means, but if it's on the horizon, I don't mind the wait. It was the same with the 360, I knew a black one was on the horizion, and waited patiently for it.

It's worth noting that I bought a NES for $20, and cartreges for two dollars each. I easily squeezed that ammount of entertainment out of it.

Nope. I already have a Wii, so I have no reason to buy a new one. Maybe I will if my current one breaks (which I really hope doesn't happen) if it's out in the U.S. at the time it happens, but until then I won't be buying one.

But if it was coming out in the UK... I still wouldn't buy it, unless I sell my launch Wii to my brother or something I guess.

The black Wii does look cool though, it's just a shame it didn't come out at launch along side the white one.
