I got into the preview for the next dashboard update and started really thinking that I'm a stones throw away from using my 360 for almost anything I turn my tv on for and then some, about all it's missing is blu ray. Thoughts?

I voted no.  If I knew more people with BD players sure, but only like 4 of my friends have 'em (1 with a stand-alone player and 3 with PS3s).  From what I've seen new movies look great of Blu-Ray but older movies look like ass.  That's not the format's fault, its the old transfers, but it still sucks.  Plus the 360 upscales to 720p (if you're using HDMI or VGA) which is fine for me because my TV is under 40".

No, i wouldn't.
Its so useless, just but normal dvd's to play. Saves money buying a more expensive version of the film and the overpriced blu ray player. Just buy a PS3 instead

Yes, i've purchased my ps3 from a friend for cheap and only use it for blu-ray so if it would be possible to get a little add-on for my 360 i would sell my ps3.

No.  Mainly because I am one of the few people without an HD television.

As long as it was cheaper than $100, then totally. Any more and I'd probably just pick up a PS3

No, they're better off waiting for the next console generation. With all the downlaodables they offer, Microsoft has the 360's movie capabilities pretty much taken care of until then. But when the next generation does come around, who knows if they'll even bother to license the tech.

I guess it would really depend what the price point is, if it was $100 or under I really would but anything over that naw.

No way. It'll be way overpriced for starters, and if I want to watch a Blue-ray movie I have a PS3 for that.

A blu-ray drive for my 360 would probably be quite expensive right?  I would rather just put that money towards a PS3 Slim.  Sure it might be a little more expensive, but I think it's a better investment.

even if it was coming out, I wouldn't. if you are going to invest the money in blu-ray discs then you dont want the turbine fans on the 360 screwing up the experience

Nope, I don't buy movies anymore, and the ones I have are on DVD, which the 360 handles perfectly. I rarely watch what I have anyway.

No because I have a PS3, which is a better blu-ray player than most actual blu-ray players.

if you don't have one already, might as well just buy a ps3 now. it's only like $50 - $100 more than a stand alone blu-ray player haha

No. You can get really nice standalones for under or around $100 easily now. I do think they should adopt BR for whatever they have planned after the 360 though.

Honestly I think an external BR drive would be a flop unless it was really cheap.

Nah, I already bought a PS3 just for blu-rays. And I have another stand-alone one. And that fuckin' HD-DVD drive for the xbox. I really don't need another blu-ray player, I just need more blu-rays.

If I didn't have those things, yes I would. A blu-ray player is a must for me, I love me some HD movie goodness, especially with those old movies, those always look the best, the new movies are all flat, and digital, save for a few, but the old movies retransferred without any grain correction is awesome.

Only if BD editions of 360 games came out with uncompressed assets. I would not buy it just for movies unless it was less than $80 USD.

So, no. I'll probably get a BD drive for my PC and watch movies on that instead. Or get a PS3 if the drives are still too expensive. My internet is too shitty to stream HD.

It would have to be really cheap, and even then I probably wouldn't bother.
