That.....might be a conflict of interest.
Would you buy video games from the Giant Bomb Shop?
Nope, the store would be in the US, and sending games to Denmark, would cost them and me a shit ton in postal fees.
As long as they would have the same prices at other retailers sure. Anything to keep away from Gamestop.
The conflict of interest would come from the fact that they'd be cannibalizing the sales generating by the Luchadeals system.
However, selling a game you also critiqued is not necessarily indicative of a conflict of interest. Whether they give 5 stars to games that don't deserve it, or ask people to buy games to which they give 1 star, their reputation could be understood as a sociological market value, and either inflating the ratings of their games, or promoting games they don't like would simply diminish that market value, and undermine their own interests, not necessarily the users'.
CheapAssGamer has a trade system, but then again, why not just go join CAG and use their system?
I'm not going to buy any games from GB because I doubt they'd be any cheaper than anywhere else. I might as well go to Wal Mart if that's the case.

"Yes, but that's the entire point. Anyone with half a brain would be able to tell if a shit game worth 1 start got a review of 5 stars from a reviewer, that it was a fake review. So their integrity would have to be sound. I'm all for a USED Game section. Rarely do I buy a game that is brand new. HOWEVER(!), if the game is one of those mega-games that is going to sell like hotcakes, no matter what, & you're going to pay full price, no matter what, a game such as Rage, then YES I would buy it from GB to show support. Why wouldn't I?
I await the day we see unlicensed "Giant Bomb" stores, like those shady "GameSpot" stores I've heard about.
only if they were giantbomb themed
they would be the same game you could get anywhere but the boxart and back of box description was all redone by the giant bomb staff
" Probably not, as I've seem some oddly high prices for games on the site. "Those are provided by PriceGrabber. I'm sure the staff know that some of the prices listed are pretty damn high, but they don't have control over that.
While Jeff is a great writer and a great guy, I would not being saying this if I got his used game....
"I'm touching something.... THAT JEFF GERTSMANN TOUCHED! I CAN'T BELIEVE. THIS WILL GO FOR DOLLAZ ON EBAY! "
