Would you rather see Final Fantasy VII-2 or FF7 Remake?

Alot of people want Final fantasy VII remake on PS3 but would you rather see Final Fantasy VII-2?

I want the remake so people will shut the hell about it being remade.

Advent Children was basically the sequel.

But I'd play a remake.

I want both but I want 7-2 to be classic style with towns and side quests, world map, etc. Also want it on console and handheld so I can play at home and on the go and sync saves. When your dreaming you might as well dream big.

Just clean and pretty it up, maybe put abetter translation in and add a couple bonuses. It'll honestly earn them some good will, and they really need that now more than ever.

I really don't know why anyone would want Square to remake a game they love anyway. Have you seen THE SHIT they've been putting out lately?? Final Fantasy VII is extra weird to me. Was the TERRIBLE FFVII movie and numerous TERRIBLE FFVII spin-off games not enough for you people?

Remake. I still think that a full blown remake on a new console launch with amazing graphics and some small tweaks would make an amazing game.

That's the point though. They dont have to do anything but make it look a million times better. There is no actual complex design involved, so it be really hard to fuck it up...although they probably would anyway.

Neither. FFVII has already been beaten to death with spin-off movies and games and none of them were any good. The people still clinging to that game like a security blanket need to grow up and move on.

The only FF remake I wanna play is of number six.

The only parts of advent children I liked where the parts based on scenes from the game.

Also they would fuck a remake up.

EDIT: Let me elaborate a little. It is impossible for them not to fuck it up and here is why. If they remade ff7 shot for shot, most americans would hate it. Are you like me where you were totally fine with Japanese games when you where younger but when you got older you where all WTF? It's the uncanny valley in action! There's a lot of weird Japanese shit in the early FF games (read: the first 10...) But when they are all super deformed, it's totally fine. When they are all super realistic, it's lame and weird.

Take Reno and Rude. They come off as totally badass in the game, but come off as incompetent idiots in the movie! But they don't actually act that different, they just look like real people in AC and look like cartoons in FF7

Neither. They should make something new that is as high of quality as the games like 6 and 7.

A remake. Why make a sequel to such an old game? A lot of the gamers around now have never played the original.

They'll never do a remake to 7. If they would do it, they would have to basically make the whole game from scratch - the only thing they could keep would be the dialogue/story (which they would voice), the combat/materia system (which I bet they would rework,) and maybe a bit of level geometry. They would have to make entirely new art assets for HD, re-model all the characters, enemies & NPCs, model all the level geometry, get art assets for that, completely re-record the soundtrack, hire voice actors for every part in the game, and then somehow sell it for $40. It would probably bankrupt them to do it the way the fanboys want, and yet even if they did do it, I doubt it would break even in sales number.

That being said, I don't think the story in 7 was good enough to warrant a sequel. What the fuck was the point of Advent Children anyway? To show how badass these guys were? The movie sucked as much as 7's story.

So, my answer is No.

Give me that sweet sweet FFX HD remake. At least the story in that one made sense, even if it wasn't voiced by the best actors.

Fucking bring crisis core and render it in 1280x720p on the ps3 and 360. That is the ONLY game i can think of, to possibly keep a psp around. You know how much better the game would be on the full screen? Its the easiest and cheapest thing in the world to produce. Its basically free money

There's already a couple of sequels and prequels. I'd like to see a remake, though.

I would kill to see a FF: Tactics game made for PC.

As one of the few people in the universe who doesn't consider FFVII to be a terribly great game (story- and character-wise, gameplay was fine), I would have to say "neither." There are other games in Square's catalog that I'd rather see reborn in HD -- but at this point in time, I don't trust Square not to fuck up everything they touch, so I'd rather they just didn't.

Um... they made one. It's called Crisis Core. You should play it. It's pretty great.

While I agree with this, I have to say that after playing XIII, I have absolutely zero faith that Versus XIII will be worth a shit.

Square Enix really just needs to stop making FF games altogether. I mean, the last one that was worth playing through was nearly ten years ago.

I think the Compilation has proven that Square does not know how to expand on the FFVII fiction. At the same time, I'd rather see the considerable resources required for a FFVII remake devoted to an entirely new game. So neither. Both are terrible ideas.

Square should just give all of their money to Atlus because they actually make good RPGs still.

I'll also say, I already played FF7, several times, I don't need to do it again with spiffy graphics.

I'm pretty sure if they remade it, it's impossible for it to be anything other than a disappointment.

A remake of 6 sounds like the best option. A lot of people haven't played it and it's often touted as squares best (excl. chrono trigger ofc.) A 3DS remake for example, to shift a few more of those before it dies.

Does anyone else miss the more anime-ish art style over the realistic approach Advent Chisldren and beyond took with the characters? I would love a visual upgrade but I would prefer something that looks more like the official character art or an updated version of the battle models than a remake that looks like AC.

Neither. Advent Children and Crisis Core were both horrible and ruin the story by trying to make it too complex.

A remake just really isn't necessary.. If anything, clean up the graphics a little, give it better character models and throw it on the 3DS or XBLA/PSN.

Then make Final Fantasy XV a return to the classic, simplistic gameplay. None of that XIII crap or endless amount of bad sequels.

I would rather see no Final Fantasy anything. Let the IP have a decade rest for christ sake.

How about Versus XIII? Advent Children is the sequel to FFVII and a remake why? so fans an haters alike can unite in hating it because it wasn't the godly creation they wanted?
