I already have PS3 Slim and I don't have a 360, so 360 for me. Although if I had neither I would go PS3 without a doubt.
XBOX 360 Slim vs PS3 Slim : Which one would you buy?
Now that I've seen the specs on this new xbox with the built in wifi I'm thinking of getting the xbox 360 slim. But now I'm torn because I've been wanting to get the ps3 slim for awhile now and was planning on doing so this month. However, considering the best thing about the xbox (its online) now comes built in, I have changed my mind. I pick xbox now, but who knows what SONY has up its sleeve for tomorow.
" well I have a working fat PS3 with BC so the slim 360. "Same here, and no current 360. This shiny black slim 360 might look good next to my shiny black PS3. Although if my monolith PS3 fell over it might smother the little 360.
i need to pick up a new one for my new room.... also i still use the 20gb HDD so this would be a delightful upgrade
I already own a regular Xbox and a Slim PS3, so neither, but if I had no systems I would go for the PS3. No charge for the online and better exclusives are my reasons.

"Yes, I was debating between both the wifi of ps3 and 360 but when you think about it the xbox 360 online is much more sleek and better, however you do have to pay $50 for a gold membership for 12 months so that's a definite con. Also, you would have to consider how the new 360 has an online which is said to be better in picking up a signal than the ps3. So if you have a weak signal and need to pick up the most wifi i think the new 360 would be your best choice for playing on wifi.

" @JeffGoldblum: A matter of perspective I suppose because I would say 360 for the superior online and what I think are better exclusives :P "I didn't say the PS3 had better online it's just free. Which is better for me since I don't do a lot of online play. As far as exclusives go I'm not a big fan of Halo or Fable.
" Why no option for both? I have a 360, but I want to own a PS3 as well. "If you only had $300, which one would you get?
I just sold my 360 last week to someone who was desperate for a replacement, and I have a PS3 with a jacked up bluray drive. I will get both by the end of summer (maybe) but I'll obviously will get the PS3 first (LOOK AT THE COLOR OF MY NAME). But If the new PS3 bundles are correct with the built-in WiFi-N I'll probably get the 360 first if it takes a couple months for the new PS3 to come out.
" @bizsumpark182 said:I guess in that situation a PS3. Since I already have an Xbox 360." Why no option for both? I have a 360, but I want to own a PS3 as well. "If you only had $300, which one would you get? "
Im this point of time into knowing what SONy si going to do tomorrow, Its hard to say. It really comes down to what you want: More storage? (360 has 250gbs, PS3 LIM has 120 gbs for 300) or Bluray (only on PS3)
I already have a slim ps3 so i voted for that. However, the ps3 slim is pretty effin loud at times. If the 360 is as quiet as they say, maybe it will be better. But still, its not blu ray player!
I'm interested in both, but the PS3 Slim would feel like a downgrade from my 60GB model (in a lot of ways it would be), while the 360 Slim would be an upgrade from my HDMI-less 360.
When my 60GB PS3 dies next I'll probably get a PS3 Slim *knock on wood that it never happens*
I'd consider trading in my 360 and backup 360 when I am satisfied that the 360 Slim has no problems.
I already have a PS3. But if I had no consoles and was planning on picking one, I'd easily still pick PS3. However since I have one already, I'll be picking up that 360 in the near future.
" I already have both a 360 and PS3. So... neither? But if I really had to choose? Hm. I selected 360 slim up there. But that really means nothing, and that's not sarcasm. I really don't know. "I'm kinda with ya, dkk yet and considering we still haven't seen Sony's press conference who knows what they will be doing with their system... Right now howver, I'd have to give it to the 360 slim just because it costs the same as the ps3 slim but has 130 gigs more of memory and a better built in wifi
Between these options, I'd pick the Virtual Boy. Its the only way to play 3D games...
Aside from that, I'll wait and see what happens to the PS3 tomorrow. Never say what you'd buy until everyone gets there announcements out of the way. If I had to decide now though, Xbox 360 slim looks more like the PS3 hardware-wise than ever before. Since I think it has the better games and online, that seems like my pick... for now.
I have a 360 already, but it's from late 2006 so it lacks HDMI and runs super loud. I may just bite on a Slim 360 depending on what sort of deal I can get and if I have the cash. I really want that HDMI output and quietness... Meanwhile I already own a slim PS3, haha!
" There needs to be a "both" option. I've been saving up for a PS3 on the side, but I'll most likely end up with the new 360 as well. "But let's say you could only choose one, which would you choose?
" @tdk08 said:UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, fine. I guess I'd go with the PS3, but only because I already have a 360, and any type of PS3 means I get a PS3. That's probably not the point of the poll either, but I'M A REBEL." There needs to be a "both" option. I've been saving up for a PS3 on the side, but I'll most likely end up with the new 360 as well. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder: You don't have eyeballs, apparently." For me, my 360 gets WAY more use than the ps3, so I chose the 360 slim. Also if you care about looks, the PS3 slim is ugly, while the 360 slim looks so damn good! "
They're both ugly, but the new 360 is the ugliest console in the history of consoles (It looks like one of those modern architectural abominations). Give me the old famicom boxy goodness.
I wish I could trade in my old 20GB 360 for the slim, if only. I'm picking up a slim PS3 after the Sony conference.
From a purely aesthetic point of view the 360 Slim looks pretty slick. The PS3 Slim just looks cheap with its matte plastic and overall design while the 360 looks fairly refined.
The funniest part about this situation is it's a complete reversal of the originals where the PS3 looked and felt expensive while the 360 looked like... a toy.
In terms of actual features the 360 slim is moving towards a much larger feature set so it can stand toe-to-toe with the PS3, making them pretty much equals.
I have a regular 360 and would purchase a slim ps3.
If I didn't have an xbox, I'd still go for the slim PS3 because it has an internal power supply and it plays the blue rays.
Good question. If I were to take a theoretical step back and imagine that I had never owned a 360 before and don't currently own a PS3, I think I'd still go with a PS3. Microsoft has finally stopped being so proprietary, and they have a better on-line infrastructure and experience (which will likely continue to attract better third party support - like Hulu). But the PS3 is just more flexible and plays Bluray - and I really enjoy Bluray movies for all of the realtime extras. Game wise, they appear pretty comparable in regards to overall AV quality and exclusives (I don't play Halo).
You xbox fanboys never learn. Are you all retarded? My first PC had a 286 cpu...In all these years, the only PC-related thing that failed on me was a power supply fan and that was cheap and easy to replace." Slim 360. This old one is loud as hell, and has already died twice. "
