spill.com does videogame review podcasts now...

They're bringing like 3-4 dudes to the table and talk about a specific game. Fucking awesome - that is!

How would I love such a thing from the Giantbomb crew.

Nay.  I like it when Spill does it but GB's podcasts use the beginning to talk about games they are playing any way and discuss the games problems, awesomeness, etc.

We get plenty of good video game talk on the Bombcast.  An audio review for every game would require a lot of time and effort for essentially a convenience that they couldn't even monetize.  Unless it was for members only, it won't happen.  Not sure if I think it should happen either way.

Edit:  Oh, you mean more like a spoilercast than a video review in audio only format?  That would be cool, but for that to happen, more than one of them would have to play the game in a timely fashion so they could discuss it, and I still think it could only work if it was a members only thing.  Spoilercasts are still awesome, though, so I'm grateful for the ones we do get.

The guys are too busy to get together and talk about one game. They basically give little ''reviews'' during the 'What You Been PLaying'' segments of the bombcast.

Nay.

  • We don't have to be like every other game site
  • It's time consuming
  • Written reviews an the occasional video reviews are enough.

Not really. They talk enough on the Bombcast, I'd say.

I rather have a review in which I can see quickly the good and bad points, or a video I can kickback too while watching.
Only voice seems creepy!

I like reading the reviews, and listening to their discussions about the game on the podcast.

That would be kinda insane. Podcasts are two hours long, right?

Nah... like a week or two after the release of a big game, a couple of Whiskey dudes who played the game sitting together spitballing for 15-30min.

The perfect little audio tidbit for the commute or whatever.

spoiler cast - well for the bighuge games, then yeah, hell, I'd even suggest the guys have it subscription only or do like Ricky Gervais did with his podcasts - charge for them - hell, I'd pay £0.99 for one every couple of weeks.

10 minutes for a basic review is fine by me.

Spill.com does it with every movie that comes out each week, and I like those a lot.

A quick audio review is great, just make it Membership Exclusive...so it feels like we paid for it.  >.>

We already have that, the Bombcast.  They talk up and down practically every game they play there anyway.  If you can't tell from listening to those podcasts what they think of a game then you haven't been paying attention.

No. The way they currently prioritise and discuss games on the Bombcast is more than sufficient.

That would be overkill. I have a hard time keeping up with the Bombcast the way it is.

Nice to see some Spill love! Though those audio recordings basically serve as the content for their videos once their edited, so it's not really the same.

I would definitely like that. It would be awesome to hear their in-depth thoughts about every game.

The question is whether or not you guys would want this, not whether or not you think it will happen. I don't think it'll happen because of already mentioned reasons, but I'm still voting yes because it would be awesome.

Nope.

Though I do like the occasional podcasts where they spend an hour talking about one game. I listened to the MGSIV one recently and reminded me how awesome that game was. Inspiring shit dawg.
