Yeah, I'm obsessed with videogames and after I just added up my total spendage for Steam games, which comes to £736.08(US $1,181.43) I began wondering how much each of you guys had spent in total over the years?
$1645
Although I dunno how much it actually is, I used this http://www.steamcalculator.com/id/widdman
On Steam? I've got a Mac, and I usually only buy when there is a sale. So I'm sure I've spent less than 100 dollars.
Found 363 Games with a value of $5152.88
Steam is my third platform... So current generation... $15,000?
I've spent about £300 this year, so far. EDIT: Oh, you mean on Steam? £0. I've spent £300 on console games. So that's, like, 4 games?

That Steam value thing doesn't take sales into account, apparently I've spent $2000 on Steam. I haven't spent anywhere near that.
On the flip side it also gives current retail valuations, which are often lower than what was paid.
For instance, I paid full price for a ton of the games on my list ($50) which are currently $10 to $20. So even though mine says $5000, it could very well be triple that. It probably all evens out.

Total over my life? Probably over 1500 - 2000 dollars. Maybe more. I don't know, I haven't kept track. In the past 12 months alone, though, it's probably been at the very least $400, and I'd be willing to be that it's more than that. Maybe even $700...
...and I've got the Valve complete pack to go through, plus about fifteen 360 games. A few of those 360 games are Saints Row 2, Just Cause 2, Fallout NV, Fallout 3 (GOTY, all DLC included), Oblivion, Dragon Age Origins (Special, all DLC included), Red Faction Guerilla, etc.
At this point I've sworn to not buy anymore games until I've put a good amount of time into the ones I've got that I haven't beaten. That might be kind of un-gamerlike of me, but my bank account is screaming at me to stop this shit. Besides, it feels weird having a drawer full of unbeaten games.

I very much doubt you mean what you paid, but rather origonal new value.
Nope, if you go to your steam settings and go to your account tab there's a text button labeled account history which is underlined as a thing you can click. I added it all up with a calculator.
And I've just noticed that I've only mentioned money spent on myself. Below this table is a table listing your money spent on gifts for others, here mine is: £ 60.69 (US $97.75).
Bringing my total Steam spendage to: £796.77 (US $1,278.77), well fuck.
BAM! http://www.steamcalculator.com/id/blackbird415 looks like your not the biggest spender around these parts :P

lol... BAM http://www.steamcalculator.com/id/ha
Neither are you.
Just below $2.500, but that's probably closer to €2.000. Either way, yes, I haven't played most of them.
Hooray for Steam sales.
[EDIT] I totally botched the logic above. The games generally cost the same amount of euros, which means the actual total cost would probably be closer to $3.000. I was thinking about that all wrong. Damn alcohol.
My Steam collection is worth 1050 dollars, apparently, but I rarely spend anything over £10 on a game, so it isn't particularly accurate.
If we're talking about how much we've spend overall I wouldn't like to think about it. More or less every console since the megadrive, a decent games collection for each and a bank-breaking PC.
Games are pretty good.
@Rolyatkcinmai: haha, but I already knew that because there was a posting just like this 6 months ago if im not mistaken

Yes they are aren't they.
Steamcalc says
Found 70 Games with a value of $922.31
That is an exaggerated figure though, considering a lot of the games I bought were on sale, and most of the more expensive "AAA" steam-works games I would have purchased for at least half the steam-price at retail. I'd guesstimate that figure being closer to 5 or 6 hundred dollars. Of course I've probably spent three or four times that on non-steam games as well.
Have spent, or have in value? I tend to pick up $20 games on sale for $5 (I generally dislike not having the physical disk, but am willing to accept the temporary purchase at a dramatically reduced cost).
Also, be aware that some of us are older than you. The difference between "lifetime spent" is big when comparing a 16 year old to a 27 year old.
It looks like I'm at $2701.20, which--seeing as I've been using Steam since 2004--doesn't seem outrageous to me. I rarely buy Steam games that aren't on-sale anymore, so I wouldn't be surprised if the actual expenditures were well below $2000.
Still, that's more money in my Steam account than in my savings account. Fun times.
That calculator left off about half my games$1645

Im in my 30's. I dont think its odd that I have spent over $2500 in games.
EDIT: Just steam, then not much at all. About 12 games. Mostly on sale.
According to the Steam Calculator thing my account is worth $2790.26 US. If you mean all games for my entire life time, I'm sure it's well over $10,000.
According to my steam account history I've spent a total of 621.80 on steam purchases (not including gifts).
On this current sale I've spent 67.05 (12 games)
Man, feels like that scene in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory when the teacher asks charlie how many chocolates he's gotten trying to win a golden ticket (for a math example he's teaching- I forget what) and Charlie says "2". The teacher thinks he means 200 and Charlie corrects him "No, just 2."
"2?" The Teacher proclaims. "Well, I can't figure out 2...!"
