Your favorite game of the year thus far!

1. The Witcher 2

The Witcher 2 and Portal 2 are pretty close for me (The Witcher 2 only edges out Portal 2 due to it's impressive graphics) with Dead Space 2 coming in a close third. From what I've played so far of Dead Island, it might be in a 4th place tie with Deus Ex HR.

Hmm, well for the games that i have actually played from this year id have to go with

1. Portal 2
2. Deus ex
3. Dead Island (even with the the very few glitches i have run into)

I have The Witcher 2 but have only put maybe 1 hour into it so far. L.A.Noire i bought for a friend to play and he paid me for it but yet i still have it at my house and I have no urge whatsoever to play it.

@Adamsons: Deus might be something to wait for but Dead Island is worth every penny so far imo. 15.5 hours in and not even halfway and have yet to even try co-op.

Haven't played Deus Ex yet. I hated L.A. Noire's ending and Portal 2 felt a bit too long.

But if I have to choose my favorite I think I'll have to go with L.A. Noire.

To be honest most games I've bought this year have sucked by comparison to last year, but if I had to pick I'd probably say Mortal Kombat.
 
Ask me on Friday and it'll be either Space Marine or Dead Island though.

I don't like to name favorites, but if I based my judgement on time invested, I would have to go with Dungeons of Dredmor. A welcome surprise - I hadn't heard about the game until it was released - amidst all the ultra hyped, multiple year ad campaigned AAA titles that surround it.

It's been a slow year for me in terms of games that I really like. I haven't really had much time to get as deep into some of them as I would've liked. I would say that Deus Ex: HR is probably my default game of the year at this point. I can almost guarantee that unless something goes horribly wrong, Skyrim and Uncharted 3 will end up being my #1 and #2 in some order.

I've played a shitload of games this year, but not many 2011 releases. I really liked Portal 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Bulletstorm. I haven't started L.A. Noire yet, but it's my next 360 game for sure. Biggest disappointment this year is Bastion: terribly over-hyped game, I couldn't find an ounce of enjoyment while playing forcing myself through it.

Tough. Might be Dead Space 2, but I really loved Bastion and Deus Ex as well. Not to forget L.A Noire, then again, I am getting my copy of NHL 12 today, so all that I just said might change before the evening. ;)

come on man, it's probably at #5-6 for me... It was just kinda easy and didn't last all that long.

Well, I basically played Bastion, and that was all kinds of great so, Bastion!

If I told you, it would ruin the surprise of my Game of the Year list in a few months! So I'll just say this in the meantime. LA Noire isn't going to be my pick for GOTY as I had prematurely expected.

Hmm, haven't purchased a lot of 2011 games. I've only just started Deus Ex, but I can tell it's exactly my type of game, so let's say:

• Deus Ex: Human Revolution (PC)
• Portal 2 (PC)
• Monday Night Combat (PC)

On 360 I just kept playing my old games (i.e. Mass Effect 2) and played some Kinect games that came out in 2010.

Resistance 3 hands down. I absolutely hate Sony with every fibre of my being and will never purchase another Sony game again, but what a swansong to go out on this Resistance 3 business is.

Mortal Kombat.

I don't really have an order but at the moment the top three games that I can think of are Bastion, Crysis 2 and LA Noire.

Portal 2, Mortal Kombat, and Bulletstorm right now are my top three favorites, but Disgaea 4 is growing on me fast. Those are just the games I've played, and if you're counting games from prior years that I've only just played this year, Donkey Kong Country Returns is fantastic.

Mortal Kombat is at the top for me right now. I have yet to pick up Portal 2, unfortunately. And I'm not sure where the rest of the games rank right now.

I can't decide. No stand-out favourite so far, but had loads of fun with Bastion, Portal 2, Dead Space 2 and Mortal Kombat.

Portal 2 for sure. It is probably one of the best gaming experiences I've had in years. L.A. Noire is pretty good too. I should be playing Deus Ex, Dead Space 2 and Dead Island soon. Hopefully they'll be near as good.

There's a lot of games coming out later this year that I'm looking forward to. Most of them have guns in them. The other has a lot of face and neck stabbing.

Portal 2, has to be. It's a big so far since Battlefield 3 and Forza 4 are coming out next month.

The Witcher 2.

Everything begins and ends with Skyrim.  Otherwise Dragon Age II (I know I'm probably the only person who would say this).

I'd say The Witcher 2 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I bet it's going to shift with the release of Uncharted 3 and Batman Arkham City, but so far I'm pretty sure The Witcher 2 is in the top three.
