Wondering what you favorite prequels games are.
I really like MGS3 and Crisis Core: FF7. Any other good ones?
They're what first spring to mind least.
Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (yep, it's a prequel). Lufia and the Fortress of Doom was really dull to me, but I liked II for its puzzle-solving elements and the procedurally generated challenge dungeon that is extremely difficult to beat without save states.
MGS3 and Crisis Core are both amazing and my favourites as well. Also, Yoshi's Island (technically?). And would any of the Zelda's count, since they jump all over the place within the timeline? I'm kinda stretching it here. Suikoden IV is decent too.
Metal Gear Solid 3.
I really like Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Halo: Reach but never really played much Deus Ex and Halo outside those two so i can't really look at them from that perspective.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII was pretty good up to the point i played it but i never finished it. I'll get around to it some day.
MGS3 is the only great one that comes to mind off the top of my head (as I check through my game library...), yup. The recent Tomb Raider wasn't bad, but certainly wasn't great. As for good ones, Deus Ex:HR and Halo:Reach weren't bad, although partially due to the game load I had at the time and partially due to the pacing of the game, I never did finish DE:HR, I'll have to do that sometime... Also @hector and @lelcar, Zelda games are disqualified from counting as prequels, since they're all the same game...
Snake Eater is pretty much the best prequel of all time. It doesn't exist solely to fill out some kind of self-important backstory like Reach or the Star Wars prequels, it actually sheds new light onto and enriches the main narrative in the present of the series.
