I have a few favourites:
- Batman: Arkham Asylum
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
- Assassin's Creed
- Gears of War 1
- Fallout 3
- BioShock
- Left 4 Dead
As cliché as most of these choices are, I still enjoy them a lot.
I have a few favourites:
I've been pretty unimpressed by this generation so far, but I guess Fallout 3, Bioshock, Dead Space and Grand Theft Auto IV stand out as my favorites.
What this generation will really be remembered for in my mind is the sudden surge of small, often indie, downloadable games brought on by the fact that consoles actually use the internet now. There are some real awesome games in this category that tingles my nostalgic bone with their retro styles that are modernized in awesome ways. Geometry Wars, World of Goo, Braid, Peggle, Plants Vs. Zombies, the PixelJunk stuff, fl0w, Flower, Shatter... the list goes on and on. It takes me back to a time where games were just sheer fun that didn't need a billion dollar budget to keep me entertained for hours.
This trend is the best thing that's happened to gaming since the NES.
"Totally with you Kane AC was awesome and AC2 is going to be even better!
- Assassin's Creed (I know it's repetitive, but atmosphere is outstanding and I just plan had a lot of fun with this game)
Xbox 360
"I liked it. Yeah, it had some bad spots, but I really enjoyed it.
- Mass Effect
- Fallout 3
- Left 4 Dead
- Super Mario Galaxy
- Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii)
- Uncharted: Drakes Fortune
- Little Big Planet
- GTAIV
- MGS4
- Assassin's Creed
- Orange Box
@gingertastic_10: Bionic Commando huh? What did you like about it? I thought it was pretty mediocre. "
My 5 Star Games:
I don't have a favorite game this generation (yet), but I'll list some top ones:
It's really hard for me to make a list like this because I have such a sliding scale.
I start off with stuff like Castle Crashers, Braid, and Fallout 3 as some of my absolute favorites this gen, then start adding stuff like Bioshock which was amazing, then I consider that if I add Bioshock I should really add Dead Space, if I add Dead Space I should add MGS4, and my list starts to lose all meaning.
"Fallout 3 The World Ends With You Castle Crashers Twilight Princess Phoenix Wright: Trials and TribulationsCastlevania: Order of Ecclesia Mass Effect Murmasa the Demon Blade "
Mostly portable stuff honestly. A lot of console games kind of feel like stories I want to experience, but after awhile they become work to complete.
