Your favourite "School yard rumors"

So everyone who grew up in the 90s will have experienced some of these (So get out of here, Claude). Essentially the kind of shit that kids used to tell each other about videogames that we believed to be true. Which were your favourites/ones you tried the most? 
 
Mew in Pokemon Red/Blue were probably the two biggest cultural milestones for me. That, and Lara Croft nude cheats. I remember when someone said "If you go into Laras bedroom, jump, walk and roll to the tune of Destinys child, she'll get in the shower and you can see her boobs!!" 
 
But with pokemon, it's like...why WAS that truck there next to the SS Anne? You can obviously get to it, why isn't Mew behind it when you strength it?

I remember reading one time if you talk to a specific person in Pokemon Blue/Red (maybe Yellow?) 100 times, they would give you a Togepi.  I spent at least an hour doing that before giving up.  I was so gullible when I was eight years old.

School yard rumors for me usually seem to consist of "This person told this person to tell this person to tell this person to tell this person to tell this person to tell this person that this person likes this person."

"I heard that the Playstation 2 was so powerful that the government were afraid it could potentially be used to bring down planes!"
 
"I heard that the next Pokemon game will be a third person adventure game - just like the original games on gameboy"
 
"The Sega Saturn three times as more powerful than the Playstation" 
 
"I heard they released Duke Nukem Forever in Brazil"

The golden warthog in halo 2, how it was on top of that city map and you needed to do some super jumps to get it or something

I thought pressing B whilst catching pokey mans actually did help your odds of capture...untill I read this thread.
 
I also remember this one house in pokemans where if you went in and out of the door like 500 times, a new door would appear inside the house that led to a cave with mew AND togepi. But there was a catch, if you went into the house on the 500th try, and left the house again, the door would vanish and would never re-appear. Fuckin lyin ass kids.
 
They also said the green ranger could beat the red ranger. my friends didn't know shit.

With me it was the universal "mew is in the truck by the S.S. Anne in Pokemon Red/Blue.
 
Also my schoolmates would say that you could unlock Master Hand in the original Super Smash Bros.

I don't remember specifics, but it was some crazy, nearly-impossible thing to do in Mario 64 to unlock Luigi. 

When I was 10 or 11 someone tired to tell me Pokemon Green was a real thing and that they had it but they could never bring it outside to show us.

You could get a blue pikachu, and that guile had a gun in Street Fighter if you do the right move.

I remember there was this rumor my old friend made up that you could go to bill's backyard in pokemon blue/red and in his backyard were all the rare pokemon

I didn't have any video game related rumors when I was a kid it was just what Natetodamax said. HEY BILLY SAID TO TELL YOU THAT SARAH SAID SHE LIKES JIM

I don't remember all the details but I made one up that I got  quite a few people to believe in grade school. It involved doing something with Sandshrew in Pokemon Stadium that would let it learn surf.

Yep. I also totally press B when I capture Pokemon to this day. I guess that says a lot about how impressionable kids are.  Other than that, Blastoise and Charizard if you beat Master Hand really fast in Smash Bros 64 (Yo, I totally unlocked them but then my data got deleted so I can't show you. Man, 1st graders are dicks). Sonic and Tails in Melee, and you could ride Yoshi in Super Mario 64.

In the 3rd grade, my friend told me that if you use a gameshark on ocarina of time then there's this cutscene that shows link and epona having sex in the closet... and then it shows zelda opening the closet door and seeing her reaction. (no joke lol)

This isn't about video games, but there was once a rumour going around about a girl I knew that said she stuck a pencil in her hoo-ha and pulled it out her butt. True story.

If you get a certain Blue Star in Super Mario 64 151 times, you get a special gray star you can ride around like a turtle shell, then you go into space and collect planets, and you ride on Saturn rings and Mario sings "here we go, here we go, here we gooooooo" ...Jeff was such a liar.

Most of the ones I remember are Zelda and Pokemon related: 
 
-Being able to obtain the Triforce somehow in Ocarina of time; there were like 600 theories but the one I always thought was true was learning a specific song the owl 
-Gold/silver saddle for Epona from playing the archery game (I wanted this so bad but obviously it was not a thing. I'm still an amazing shot in the game after all of my hours of trying lol)
-Sky Fortress in OoT, also was supposedly another Triforce location 
-Togepi's egg being invisible in a cave in Pokemon Red/blue  (I tried for hourrrrsss when I was little, like a chump)
-Pressing B exactly when the pokeball closed for the first time, and then holding down as it wiggled was the sure way to catch a pokemon

In Super Smash Bros you could get Master Hand, Metal Mario and Waluigi, I don't remember how

There was a special well somewhere in Wolfenstein 3D that you could climb down, giving you reversed level versions of the entire game populated by naked female Nazis.

Mind you, I made that one up and convinced a TONNE of people it was true.

MK II- You can fight the background characters on the bridge II stage.
         - You can play Sonia and Kano
Street Fighter II- Play as Sheng Long. Need to get all Perfects and on a single quarter.

This might be a tad different but when i was a kid i was handed some big rocks or "Pokemon fossils" they said. I kept them in my closet for about ten years until i came across them cleaning. Man that was wierd.

In FF7: If you got 50 Hankies from the golden saucer and the let Aires die, Cloud would use a phoenix down and you could use her again for the whole game! 
 
Also if you got to stage 30 of the torture mini game in MGS1, Ninja would survive and you'd leave with him on the snowmobile at the end.
