I'm not entirely sure, was some racing game I think.
Your First Game
super mario , duckhunt or track and field. All three came with nes purchase, can't remember what I played first
not counting pong.... played it at my friends house
Rainbow Six on the PC. The original one. I don't actually remember my real first game, but that's the one I remember playing a whole lot. It's funny, if you look at people's first games, you'll usually be able to tell their interests in the long run- or at least draw some interesting comparisons.
For instance, I play ArmA 2 and Men Of War a lot now. I like a lot of realistic video games and mods, and mostly games that present a fantasy or sci-fi setting in a realistic way. You know, in the way that says "If this existed, this might be how it would be". Like Skyrim, for instance.
Can't Remember
I know I played a bunch of old school Arcade stuff whenever I had access to Arcades Pac-man, Ms Pac-Man, centipede, Donkey Kong, Mario bros (not Super), Asteroids, Space Invaders....stuff like that.
I do know it was Super Mario Bros. that cemented my love of gaming and made me a "gamer".
My first game i think was Golden axe for the sega genesis.
Great game to start of my gaming life imo :3
I got a Turbo Grafx 16 for Christmas when I was 5, the games I remember getting with it were:
- Bonk's Adventure - the most accessible and probably what I played the most of
- Vigilante - I think it was the first game I ever beat, but it's hard to know for sure
- Splatterhouse - was so awesome but probably too hard for me to play for long
- Dungeon Explorer - I could never get very far in this game but always thought the music & style were neat
Legend of Zelda on the NES when I was 3. After that I think I played Super Mario on the Game Boy and Tetris when I was 5.
Super Mario Bros. Probably I have seen and even tried some games before that but that one is the first can remember. It blew my tiny little mind away when I saw it first time at a toy store.
First game played: Defender for the 2600
First game ever owned: Star Wars: Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight for PC
Probably played the sport collection cartridge for that console... you know, right? The one with two controllers? One joystick and a button each? Looks like the Atari 2600, but it's not... so yeah...
Man, now I want to go find that piece of garbage...
um, Treasure Cove I think. by The Learning Company. educational games! the first real game I played was probably the original Railroad Tycoon, which is one of the best games ever made.
It was Road Runner for the Amstrad CPC. I was 4, I believe. I loved it. It's the entire reason I play videogames, essentially.
In 3rd grade it was Super Mario Bros but I think my true "awakening" came from Doom and Wing Commander in 5th or 6th grade.
Manic Miner on the ZX Spectrum 48k, I think it was Christmas 1982... I was only about 5, and it took me ages to get past the 'Central Cavern' but I was hooked. It was a brilliant game then, and is a brilliant game now - and was also one of the first games to feature background music, certainly it was the first on the spectrum. The way it was done was the processor switched from playing the game to the music every cycle - which is why you got that wierd warbly effect on the music.
You'd never believe such a thing was ever a problem given the power of todays machines.
I don't remember exactly but my first vivid memories are of Combat for the 2600.
