"Also, I stopped reading at Final Fantasy V. Terrible game. = P"
You're a terrible game."
Jakob has been full of piss and vinegar for some reason lately."
Is THAT what they say about me? Eh. I've been pretty happy and upbeat lately. I just really couldn't stand Final Fantasy V. That game was total balls. Then again, then you've got Final Fantasy VI to compete against, it's kind of hard for ANY other FF games to hold up.
ESPERS FTW!!!
"
Espers were also in XII. Also, I know you've got more disagreement with me in the future, so stay tuned!"
I hated V for a while.
I learned that to appreciate V, you have to play the rest of the series and get proper perspective of Final Fantasy's overall history. More specifically the job system, and that Final Fantasy slowly became the more "
serious" dark toned series over time.
What really did it for me was that I decided to buy V on GBA on a whim. I had attempted to complete the game a couple times prior but to no avail due to my relative disinterest in the characters. After some dedicated play the story
finally does pick up, and the job system becomes more or less the center piece of the overal experience.
Overall V is an important entry in the series. If you want real crap...try the original Final Fantasy II...
Some noticeable things about V (Spoilers, for a game made in 1994...):
* The first game to have Gilgamesh. First time
"Battle on the Big Bridge" is used. Gilgamesh is hilarious even now. His name should be added to the definition of
"Epic Fail."* Aerith may freak out fans with her death years later. But Gaulf's final stand is pretty impressive.
* The main character is named Bartz. In Japanese his original name is Butz, thus winning the award for worst JRPG name ever.
*Two planets that converge into one. FFIX anyone?
*ExDeath turns out to be...a....
tree... The final boss... Is a tree... EPIC!!!!
