Crysis? No it's a fps.

Heavy Rain, if it's like it  Fahrenheit  yes most likely. You can see button tapping icons in the trailer.

Ad Hominem, you say?  I believe that's the first time I've ever seen a logical fallacy mentioned in a games forum."
Really? I've seen it a few times.

Not really, you are arguing everything but the point., it's pretty lame. This website has an option to pay as well, they are not specifically saying console. Fanboy or noob.

Here's some jungle screenshots taken for you to enjoy while you ponder that choice.

And here's Heavy Fail picture as well so you can gush at the art direction and characterization and lack of Korans being killed.

Again, the part in bold is incoherent. And yes, they have nice foliage. But the shadows are terrible and the rocks remind me of Two Worlds. Even on high, there is incredible pop-in at 50 feet or greater in Crysis. On high.

The game looks spectacular, but I wouldn't go as fars as "Best graphics ever".

I'm really looking forward to this game.

I think everyone in this thread is missing the point of video games. Technical graphics do not matter.

I can say Crysis has the best technical graphics of any game, but what does that matter? Nothing! The gameplay is what matters!

I can play a game from 1998 with horrible textures and have more fun than some amazing graphics game in 2008.

Graphics complement the gameplay. A good example of this is STALKER - Shadow of Chernobyl, where the graphics establish an atmosphere and setting, and look very realistic. From a technical standpoint its not that advanced, but it looks real and contributes to the immersion, and that's far more important.

So you can say Heavy Rain has the best graphics, he can say Crysis has the best graphics, but I and 99% of gamers do not care!

Lmao, funny how some people are bashing the game (OMGZ QTEs LOLZ) without knowing jack shit about the title.

I wouldn't go as far to say i has the best graphics ever, because that is a matter of opinion, but I would say it has some of the best graphics on consoles ever.

Now as far as QTEs goes, that is not all the game is made up of, as some people are assuming (stupidly so). This game is going to have some of the most amazing story telling and cinamatics out there, probably something we will have never seen before it, and will see more of years after its release. The ability to change course of the story however you see fit, as if you are the director, is amazing.

Think of it as a movie where your actions you choose to make have actual consiquences in the main story and gameplay, and vice versa. Remember thoise goosebumps books where it would have you choose at the end of every few pages what you want to do? Think of this like that, except its not like a menu screen coming up and saying "do you want to kill this person, or let them live" (ala Bioschock), but rather more simple and elegant so to speak. What you do in the game will change the course of the story, sometimes even without you knowing it.

If you grab ten people to play the game, its pretty likely that each will have seen and expereinced events that other players didn't, and vice versa.

Actually Daemon, Jayge was right on the money. The graphics for Heavy Rain are extremely technically impressive because of the nature of the gameplay. Less rendering is necessary than in a more open game, therefore it is easier to increase the quality of graphics within a contained setting. The facial features in those screenshots are more impressive than henchman X in Crysis.

Deal with it.

Yes it looks beautiful, but I'm just worried about how much of it I actually play. And I'm a Metal Gear Solid fan!

Dude, it is NOT all QTEs. There is only one video out for the game, its a trailer, they are not going to show every aspect of gameplay there. XD

Imagine the QTEs like cutscenes, except you can interact with them via contact sensitive QTEs that actually will evolve the story however you want it to go. For example, in the part of the game you could have called the cops and they would come and arrest the guy, you could have killed him, you could have ran away and he would still be alive, he could have killed you and the story would move on, etc. Story differs in many threads so you can do what you want and that will effect the story.

Same with myself, although I'd be interested to get a little time at my friend's house with the final product.

That's the point I was making the entire time. It's dynamic cinema, which is certainly an aspect of the graphics technology.

The faces in that game are so lacking in expression....it disturbs me that somebody would go so far as to say these are the best graphics ever.

And the animation was done far better in Assassin's Creed. So overall, I don't think these are the best graphics ever to be made

After just recently attempting to play the 'game' Indigo Prophecy, I can say that heavy rain is definately going to need more than good graphics to capture the least bit of my attention.

For some reason, I am highly doubtful that you actually played Fahrenheit... can you even tell me the story spoilers and endings?

now be a good little troll and slink off into a darker corner.

for the record, in case it ends up being obscured by those who don't have a mentality apt enough to accept differences of opinion, i was stating that I believe Heavy Rain will be a crap game as it is developed by the same studio that created Indigo Prophecy, a monumentally crap non-game that somehow disguised itself well enough to fool some dim-wits like Sentry, here.

Lol, I have no right to have a feeling you never even played what you are critisizing? I think I do, and you getting all pissy and throwing a fit (while not answering my question) only further validates my point. I never said you didn't play it, I said I am doubtful that you really played it, and offer you a chance to prove me wrong, yet you say fuck all my doubt and I have no right to question your integrity. XD

The game was just announced/shown for the first time... Obviously they aren't going to show real gameplay yet, but the press has played it already and their impressions are up, as well as their expectations.
