Right after many hours of deliberation, I finally made the choice to buy Banjo Kazooie N+B. I had very low hopes for the game, having loved the previous titles, and pretty much everything Rare has made (except the Perfect Dark series), but I hated the demo for the game, and didn't believe the good reviews I read, on here and else where. To be honest, I just didn't buy GB's 5 star rating because this has been the one and only problem Ive had with the site since I started visiting it. GB's 5 star rating had me buying games like MKvDCU, which sucked so badly and is a shell of a game compared to SC IV.....So i was very wary when it came to Banjo, especially because the marketing was on the non-existent side of the spectrum, I had no idea what to expect.
However, BKN+B is the best game I have played all year, not only because EVERYTHING in the game is pitch perfect, the humour, the graphics, the self-awareness, the characters, the story, the gameplay, the MULTI-PLAYER! just everything is amazing.
One thing that puzzles me though, is why Microsoft/Rare chose to release a demo that displays very little about what the game is actually like to play, the demo pretty much dissuaded me from buying the game, which is insane when you think about it.
They could have shown off the amazing mulitiplayer modes like the sumo mini-game, or even the racing, but they chose not to.....something went seriously wrong when marketing this game, because I can't convince any of my friends to buy it because they all hated the demo.
essentially Banjo is an expanded emalgamation of Diddy Kong Racing and the Banjo games crossed with an amazing vehicle builder, with everything done right, it, in my opinion it is a strong contender for game of the decade.
Anyway thanks Brad, and GB, my life is now beter because Banjo and Kazooie, and yes even Gruntie are back in it.

I want to thank Giant Bomb! - in particular Brad
I feel pretty much the same way. I wasn't too interested in the game even after playing the demo but it was Giant Bomb's staff and the community here that pushed me over the edge with all the praise it was getting. I got it and love it alot. In fact I made a similar blog, but it has a picture in lieu of a well thought out post, such as yours. Heh.
Kinda makes me glad I never bothered with the demo... I only downloaded it to see if I could still read the game's text on my SDTV.
"BiffMcBlumpkin said:Only until Vinnie gets his hands on that damn whistle."You wouldn't survive a day in Barter Town."Pft. With Brad-in-a-sack I would run Barter Town."
basically, i am just pretty dissapointed at how the game was marketed; as some bargain bin stocking filler, but in my honest opinion, banjo is by far and away one of the best games I have ever played, and it is a sad thing to see it so overlooked. microsoft needs a kick up the ass.

I agree too. I like that they chose a few games so far that I know the general public would be like OMG WTF about. Every other site I guarantee if they had an only Xbox game they woudl choose gears 2 just for the hell of it, because its the obvious choice everyone expects. Banjo defintely deserves it.
