Is Little Big Planet hyped too much?

I have had the chance to play LBP and can say that it's worth the hype.  The platforming itself is good.  The controls work well.  They are easy to understand but enough to add some depth.   I haven't had a chance to use the editor but based on what I've seen it's certainly more than "a basic level editor."   The level variety shown right now is fairly impressive and I can only imagine where things will go once it gets released to everyone.  Even without the editor it comes with 50 levels so the game isn't entirely relying on user generated content.  Unless you dislike platformers or hate the look (in which case you have no soul :)  )  I don't see how you can think this game is overhyped compared to some of the other hype specticals we've seen this generation.

You can play Psychonauts for free on Gametap.  You should check it out if you haven't ever played it.  But i am sure that LBP will not be over looked that Psychonauts.  Will it sell millions?  No cause i don't think its the type of game that would.   If it was on the Wii that might be a another story.  The PS3 gamer is more of the hard core gamer, and LBP seems more like a Wii game.

You're kidding right?

LittleBigPlanet is anything but casual. Don't let the art style and use of colour fool you.

"So far in response to the game daily link here are the common feeling.

Im a sonyfanboy and therefor if they think its gonna be bad then they are bad and they suck.
Opinions that do not mesh with my own suck.
People that have opinions that are opiset of mine should not be allowed opinions.

Thats some really sad feelings there."
The author of that article assumes you won't be able to string levels together in LBP, but no one has said anything about that either way. He assume the user-made content will be crap, and while a lot of it probably will, that doesn't mean there won't be a lot of really fun content out there. He also laments Silent Hill V maintaining the tradition of wonky controls, but one of the things the developers of that game have been stressing to people is that they acknowledge the control problems and are working to make SHV feel tight and responsive.

It's not just fanboys being defensive, the GameDaily article makes a lot of assumptions about games, strives to be pessimistic, and is flat-out ignorant
