I'll start this one off.

  • GB: lordofultima
  • XBL: LordofUltima
  • Detroit, MI USA (Eastern GMT -5)
  • I've always been a fan of fighting games, but my love for street fighter didn't blossom until a little over a year ago. To make a long story short, I've been poop-socking 3rd Strike ever since. I'm looking forward to the release of Street Fighter IV simply for the prospect that fighting games may have a new lease on life.

How come all your tournaments are for the 360?

Well, another mod is going to be organizing a PS3 tournament, so if that's what you're looking for then you'll get your chance. I'm obviously not going to purchase two copies of the game, and the objective is to keep this a tight-nit tourney.

Try making some PS3 ones as well. I mean you personally. My only problem is my 360 is offline at the moment.

I could in the future, but I'd have to make it a more lenient style like the Giant Hadouken tournament for HD Remix, where it takes place over the span of many days.

Great stuff. Anyway, here are my details:

GB: Darro
XBL: Retro Darro
Bessbrook, Northern Ireland, UK/GMT
I have played fighting games over the years and while I ain't necessarily a huge fan, I like the odd one a lot now and then.  Soul Calibur remains my favourite fighter to this day although Tekken 3 is up there also. Street Fighter IV looks set to be one I will very much enjoy since it will be somewhat easy to learn but hard to master while other fighters are just hard to learn, impossible to master.

I wasn't very big into fighting games until recently when I bought SF2THDR. I'm not a very good player, but I do enjoy playing with my fellow GiantBombers, so Street Fighter 4 is a must have for me. Hopefully I'll get some good practice in before the asskickings begin, but I don't mind being used as a punching bag.

Oh and BTW, there is another SF4 tourney going on too, for anyone who wants to join both.

  • I have been pretty much been playing street fighter games all my life. It is considered to me the best fighting game competition wise. I do not considered myself "hardcore" but I do hold my own. Can't wait to get it started...Fight!! :)

  • I am a decent Super Smash Bros. player, and I'd say that is the fighting game I have most gotten in to, mostly due to local tournements and players being most common. I enjoy some good King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown, probably #2 on my list. When I was maybe 6 years old, I was the king of Mortal Kombat in my area. Finally, Street Fighter games. I've played since forever, but I've also never been very good. I'm absolutely awful at SF2, I'm ok with the alpha games, but I'm actually pretty good at 3. I haven't played 4 yet. Right now, I'm hoping to play SFIV as religiously as I have SSBB in the past, as I feel dirty claiming Super Smash Bros. as my primary fighting title. Speaking of SSB, I'm the GB SSB champ, if that counts for anything.

  • I first started playing fighting games back in the early 90's when I was 4 or 5 and went to an arcade and put my first quarter in Street Fighter II The World Warrior. Since that day, I've played a ton of fighting game franchises such as Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Virtua Fighter, Battle Arena Toshinden and many others I can't think of right now. Although I do not consider myself to be anywhere near a "pro" status, I do manage to get some victories here or there. Even though Street Fighter II has been resold many times, it is still my favorite fighting game franchise that I will never grow out of. Bring on Street Fighter IV!

Two weeks baby!

  • I've been a huge Street Fighter fan ever since I got the The World Warrior on my Super Nintendo back in the early '90s. I enjoy many fighting games, but SF is the one series of games that never gets old for me, and I will never turn down a challenge in. When I was younger, I used to face all my relatives, but I was the undisputed champ. I'm planning on being as hardcore as I possible can with the release of SF4. Bring it on.

I have been playing fighting games since I was 2. My first review for EGM was Virtua FIGHTer. I used to have a Street Fighter II: World Warrior arcade machine at home (still have the board). I will write more stuff if I get an F on this post... Wait, not I won't.

Yeah, I figured it was super-catchy (obviously) so it would be a perfect fit!

Since I can't seem to quote for whatever reason, in response to what lordofultima said above:

I'm looking forward to seeing what later renditions of Street Fighter IV will be called.

Super Street Fighter IV Turbo' SD Remix?

Well our tournament styles are very different, I didn't want to just sit around for three weeks while people fought amongst themselves. Also, I spell organization with a 'z'. So that makes it better.

Snail: To be honest, I've never even heard of Endogene until now. This is the second time I've ever even come to the forums.
This is just a quick tournament for fun, really. I don't feel like taking part in anything huge and timely. We can both have our tournaments, I don't know why anyone cares.

There's apparently going to be a day-one update for SFIV that's going to add a championship "tournament" mode. The way this tourney will function might change depending on such a mode. For instance, if you can actually create a bracket in the game, then this might make it a ton easier. We'll see.

    • I played Street Fighter II when it first came out in my local arcade at CiCi's Pizza and I thought it was the most awesome thing ever. I remember having to claim your place for the next match by putting your quarter on the arcade console itself and watching to make sure no one took your spot or your quarter. Since then I managed to get every single Street Fighter except for Third Strike. By that time I was getting into a slew of other games but my interest never faded. I am eager to get the Collector's Edition of SFIV(360) and I hope I will be a competitive player.

    • I was actually thinking of hosting my own tournament at my website (www.wrixel.com) when I found this one.  I’ve always loved the SF series and I want to see how good my skills are.  I’m very interested in seeing how this tournament will work out!  Please pick me!
