FF XII. Every time I turned it on, I thought "Jesus Christ, what the fuck is this?"

Really? I enjoyed FFXII a lot, and its opening was quite awesome. There wasnt a massive problem with its battles-there was barely any difference at all, im my opinion.

Anyway, as I didnt post mine, the final fight against Ocelot in MGS4 was pretty jesus.

Micowave crawl in MGS4.

Two reasons:
I couldnt believe how long they needed me to mash on the triangle

I couldnt believe how brilliant and it immersive it was

EMPIRE CITY BLOWS UP!!!

In the vein, the bomb in CoD4 was pretty sobering, too.

I have a few, but some probably won't seem all that cool to the youngsters:

1) The end of Super Metroid
2) The beginning of Star Fox
3) Turning on Mario 64 for the first time
4) Seeing Vivec in Morrowind for the first time
4b) Entering the final dungeon in Morrowind
5) Some of the battles in Mechwarrior 3 made me flip out...what an awesome forgotten game
6) Encountering the regenerating creatures in RE4 for the first time

Final Fantasy is the franchise I grew up with. Some people grew up with Sonic or Mario....I was a nerd at birth and flocked to the series. I appreciated how every entry in the series was unique, but played the same for the most part. XII deviated too much from the source for me, I just could not get in to it.

I'd say getting around 600-700 coins in Sonic 3 and Knuckles. I wrote it down somewhere, but I'm sure I lost the paper telling me what the number was.

I had no idea that was going to happen at the end =( talk about forcing myself to play through a game that scares me only to see that. Is there ever a break with that game?

Probably the scene in Bioshock, I really had no fucking clue. Or my first game of Tribes, I could believe I was playing with people who were not in the same room.

That's a hell of a good list, and I'll agree (haven't played all the way through RE4, though).  I'll add a couple.  Mine probably aren't going to seem all that cool to the young'uns either:

1)  Final Fantasy VII's CG cutscenes were jaw-dropping at the time.  Between Aeris's death and the Weapon cutscenes, I was pretty much floored every time I turned around.
2)  Soul Edge's opening cinematic blew me away back in the day.
3)  Realizing just how expansive and how much you could do in Morrowind for the first time on Xbox was pretty damned amazing.
4)  The last fifteen minutes or so of Quest for Glory IV had me just shaking my head in amazement.  It was an incredible sequence of events at the time.

For something planned in a game probably the Nuke explosion in CoD4 but once in online on GTA IV (Cops n robbers) I was the last robber and had to get to the boat. I was on this narrow bridge with a lambrogini thing. This hummer comes straight on for a collission (it was a narrow bridge so nowhere to go) and as I though he was gonna smoke me he ramped on my lambrogini thing into the ocean. Jesus. Christ.
