Doom - the first FPS I played. Awesomeness to the max. I still remember most of the levels. Some crazy and awesome mods/levels.
Duke Nukem Forever - Not as technologically impressive as Doom, but man this game was funny. The humour and the self-awareness gave it a very special feeling. I still remember the cheat that gave you all the weapons: "DNSTUFF"
Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines - I asked for a game with "movies in it" cause I wasn't familiar with the term cut-scenes, and this is what I got. Yup, it was full of war footage. And it was a pretty cool game. Definatly not your average game, you had to actually think before taking action. But the trial-and-error got a little tedious around the end. Thank god for the cheat codes...
Age of Mythology - This game if my all-time favorite game hands down. I had bought a GeForce 4 MX on the same day that I bought this game. The latter turned out to be a better investment. The moment the first level came on screen, oh my god, I was drooling. It looked so so beautiful. The animations were so fucking fluid I still can't describe it. And I wasn't familiar with Greek mythology at the time, so the storyline was so epic for me. I still play this game online at least once every week.
Splinter Cell - The game that told me console games are going to take over PC games. I bought it with some suspision knowing it was a Xbox port, but It blew me away. Then in the following months Prince of Persia: Sands of Time killed any doubts I had about console games taking over. Turns out I was right...
noticable mentions:
Total Overdose - The most fun I have ever had playing a video game. EVER. What a pity that its too short and flawed.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - Same reason as Splinter Cell, but Splinter Cell came out earlier.
Super Mario World - Childhood memories
Sonic the Hedgehog - Childhood memories
House of the Dead - My only real arcade exprience. Me and my friend actualy played the whole game in an arcade. We spent $20. A lot of money back then.
