I personally think that the Splinter Cell franchise is better but what do you think?
What do you think is better Splinter Cell or Metal Gear Solid?
I don't need a hundred replies, however I want to say both games are very different, one is realistic or more realistic, the other one is too fictional. I train in the same martial art as sam fisher, I know his hand to hand combat skills are make belive like cqc. Yes there is an army cqc, however it's not the same as what snake is using. Sam fisher doesn't use an electric knife or hide in a barrel. I think this realism is appealing to me since they really had people to consult with that works in that field. I can't stand a game that's so unrealistic with boss battles and tranquiler darts. Splinter cell games are real stealth even if it's boring to alot of people, mgs games are more stealth action.
I wouldn't even compare the two games. Metal Gear and Splinter Cell are both totally different but if I had to choose? Metal Gear by far.
" @xyzygy: Seriously? I think Snake is one of the best characters in games and Raiden is a fag. "How can Raiden be a fag? He's dating Rose.
" @Skytylz said:I think Raiden from MGS2 was a moron. I still liked playing as him though in that game. But MGS4 Raiden, he is such a badass and he is one of the strongest characters in that game. He gets mortally wounded like 4 times, always comes back, and always fights with gradually missing limbs." @xyzygy: Seriously? I think Snake is one of the best characters in games and Raiden is a fag. "How can Raiden be a fag? He's dating Rose. "
He stopped Outer Heaven in it's tracks with his back, for christs sakes.
Raiden has saved Snake so many times it's not even fit.
All in my opinion of course.

In general I vastly prefer the MGS Franchise, I can play any of its games any day, all day. But I've never had any urges to replay any of the SC games.
I liked MGS much better. The story was out there and original, and the gameplay was easy enough to understand, but deep enough to play around with.
Splintercell had some cool ideas (optical camera), but the game came down to guess and check a little too much. I didn't care for the first game much at all.
Metal Gear for me.
To me, both games are equally frustrating at times and equally clumsy, so it's Metal Gear's characters and craziness that wins it.
" @Skytylz said:Not that there's anything WRONG with that." @xyzygy: Seriously? I think Snake is one of the best characters in games and Raiden is a fag. "How can Raiden be a fag? He's dating Rose. "
" Metal Gear easily. EDIT: This should have been a poll. "Yeah dude! Nobody around here uses the poll function when they so obviously should!
Anyway, MG all the way...gotta love ridiculous convoluted Japanese stealth-actions games
" @Skytylz said:Yeah you're right. During the mission to locate Sunny, Raiden was almost killed. They managed to salvage his upper head, including his brain, but his body was totally destroyed. The suit gave him a second chance to live, and he could feel free to be as careless as he wanted with it because his limbs and white blood can be replaced and repaired. It's not like Raiden had a choice to get the cyborg ninja suit, if I recall. "" @xyzygy: You actually believe that Raiden is a better than Snake? Snake kicks ass and he doesnt even need that bullshit implant suit thing Raiden has. "
Skytylz, Snake wear a suit which enhances his performance too, and he wholly relies on gadgets. You never see Raiden using a gun do you? He's practically the MGS equivalent of a Jedi.
I can't decide I love them both! Plus they both give me completely different stealth experiences that I enjoy.
It actually depends on what the individual prefers. The gameplay in both games is different enough to not be comparable.
That being said, Metal Gear Solid 4 was a piece of garbage. Any Splinter Cell game beats MGS4. If you asked me to choose, though, I'd go with MGS2 being the best out of the MG/SC franchises, so, therefore, MGS would be superior.
