So far, it's Metroid. Holy shit I did not see that coming.

Golden Sun DS is a close second. I loved the first two GS games so I'm psyched for this. Although, I think I would have had them gone the way of really detailed sprites rather than 3d graphics, but hey, still looks awesome.

Yeah The Last Guardian, just because its unique, and the other Team Ico games were sublime.

There wasn't just one game for me.

Modern Warfare 2
Everything Bioware
Splinter Cell
God of War III
Uncharted 2
Assassin's Creed 2

And more that I forgot.

All I can say is that I'm really happy to be a gamer in 2009, across the board... unlike with E3 2008.

There are a ton of games I'm really looking forward to on Wii, DS, 360, PS3, and PSP! :)

I'm sorry, it can't be one

- Conviction
- ODST
- Reach, MGS5 announcement
- Team Ninja Metroid

that's the biggies.

and some that arent' even though they'rebig games...sadly:
- Alan Wake---> it looks like a third person shooter
- Super Mario Galaxy 2---> it looks exactly the same

most interesting-- Lionhead's tech demo/ new game

More gameplay of the same game, meaning just more of the same  (not revealing anything new) aka GOW3 or COD5 doesn't impress at all, though they're definately something to buy.

Edit: why are people saying the last guardian?  We saw that weeks ago.

Online Now

Bioware had some really cool stuff, but all expected.

For me the biggest surprise was Crackdown 2, it wont be the best game ever but it's a hell of a lot of fun.

Another surprise was L4D2! No-one was really expecting that.

I think it will be some time before we see L4D 2.  Valve has a habit of taking awhile before they blow our socks off.  It would not surprise me if the game came out 2 years from now with portal 2 and episode 3 in the "Blue box".

I don't think we've seen the last of DLC for L4D.

Alan wake isnt really a third person shooter. it has shooting elements, and it is in the third person, but it falls more in the category of survival horror if anything.
I want it.

Super Mario Galaxy 2. I haven't even had a chance to play the first one, now I have a second one to look forward to as well?

I'm stoked about New Super Mario Bros Wii as well

Uncharted 2 wasn't surprising but looked beautiful, the combat and platforming were mixed well, the combat looked more polished, and enemies died in a reasonable amount of shots.  Everything I was hoping for.  Really looking forward to that game.

Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed II, The Last Guardian, Agent (even with no info), Alan Wake, all the Bioware stuff... a lot of great looking games.

If there's just one thing  though, it's easily Milo.

'
And according to Sessler it works as he's played it.  granted though, there's still a game they have to make based on this concept.

Modern Warfare was the most impressive in that gameplay demo, but I'm more psyched for Reach actually.  All of Bioware's stuff looked great as well....could the KOTOR MMORPG actually be the first decent console MMO???  Still wanna see something about Borderlands, BBC2, and Dark Void.  Splinter Cell: Conviction was pretty damn awesome looking...... surprisingly so for me.

My personal highlight was getting to FINALLY hear details from James Cameron himself about the Avatar movie and game.  Wish they would've shown some gameplay or a trailer or something, but I know he's waiting until the theatrical trailer comes out first.

As far as what GAME impressed me...nothing made me go "wow".  I liked seeing Conviction in gameplay, as I've been waiting for a return of Sam Fisher and his awesomeness.  Fallout 3: Point Lookout made me giddy as Hell.

Doesnt really qualify, since like you said, its not actually a game. If it works the way its supposed to then its pretty impressive, but it sounds like the program needs a special room at this point, not to mention that outside of a controlled environment there are a number of variables its probably not ready for yet.

Crackdown 2

When I heard the Agility Orb sound, a chill ran down my spine. No other game did anything close to that.

Golden Sun and Team ICO's new game are probably my top two fave announcements. Other M was cool. Alan Wake made a great impression and Agent sounds intriguing... oh, the possibilities.

Uncharted 2.

Easily going to be the best console-only game of the year, I'd give it a 90% chance of being that. If it's an improvement on the original single-player wise, it's a given. If the multiplayer is good, it's game of the year.

MIlo was most crazy / impressive / holy shit it's Skynet / I've been time warped to 2020

But as far as actual games, BioWare's triple play. I'm also surprisingly interested in seeing some gameplay in MGS: Rising.
