Mine is Take on Me by A-ha because I find it hilarious. This is a great feature, it's made me laugh plenty of times
What is your helicopter arrival music?
Bowie's "Cat People". It's got a slow build that puts some menace to my insertions.
Mind you for the Africa section I used The Clash's "White Man in Hammersmith Palais". It's hilariously tasteless in an overthought way.
Fuck. You PC assholes I'm jealous of you! I haven't settled on a song included in the console version of the game yet and I haven't really even found alot of the tapes. But Ive been rocking True by Spandau Ballet in my acc today.
What I want to know is if some tapes can only be found in missions or if you can find them at any time in free roam? I wish someone would put up a jpg map marking all their locations.
I'm still going over this list from Wikipedia: 1984 in heavy metal music
The frontrunner is Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" of course.
@devil240z: You can find them at any time. There are guides for it out there if you want. Also, I had never heard the full version of True before this game. It's awesome.
I would personally use Snake Eater, but it takes too long to build up. Same with Maneater and Final Countdown.
I have no helicopter music for the same reason my D Dog isn't blue and my Quiet isn't gold - I'm not a monster.
Just finished chapter 1 last night. That fucking teaser for chapter 2 is amazing and also about 90% of trailer footage. Kinda bummed I felt I needed to see all the trailers. The Sehalanthropus Voltron impression would have been much more hilarious in the moment.
Theres a thread already, but pequod arrives at LZ to the tune of homer's favorite jukebox song at moe's "It's Raining Men"
Mine is this one...mainly for the lyrics.
@darkvare: If you're playing on PC theres a directory in the install location called CustomMusic. You just drag your MP3's in there and they show up in the iDroid.
I'm using All I Want is You by Barry Louis Polisar (the song that plays in the opening credits of Juno). Not that great when Peqoud picks you up but it's pretty good when I call in support helicopters and shit is blowing up everywhere.
I mentioned this in the other chopper music topic, but Roller Mobster by Carpenter Brut (and featured in Hotline Miami 2) has a sort of intro bit that's just about the same length as the amount of time for the (un-upgraded) chopper to arrive. So right as the really cool part of the song starts, Pequod starts barfing rockets all over the bad guys.
It's a beautiful thing to see.
I had a whole list of dumb songs I was going to use but when it looked like it might actually take a time investment to seek out mp3s of that stuff I decided just to laugh at the concepts of my songs and went a while without any music. It's been a very long while since I've spent time trying to download mp3s for free so I didn't feel like learning what people were doing these days.
When I found the Final Countdown tape I started to use that since it was on my initial list of dumb stuff. Maybe I'll switch over the the Recorded In The Bathroom tape for a laugh once.
Rebel Yell! On an 1800 hour insertion if you wait right until "pray help from above!" to drop from the helo, not only do you feel bad ASS but it's also just dark enough to feel properly sneaky,
The greatest tragedy of the tape system is the long build on The Final Countdown, I feel like Pequod One would have rerecorded it himself to get the right impact, I know I will when I inevitably buy the PC version.
Helicopter music is cool in theory, but it doesn't work for me because it has to start at the beginning of the song every time. I'd love for it to start at some random point, but each song I try I just burn out on after a single gameplay session. Don't wanna kill songs I love this way.
My favorite that I was using, though, was Karen O/Reznor/Ross's cover of "Immigrant Song" from the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo soundtrack.
@venatio: I think we kind of already have a thread like this going: http://www.giantbomb.com/metal-gear-solid-v-the-phantom-pain/3030-40796/forums/post-your-helicopter-custom-soundtrack-1781869/#99
Take On Me just because the PS4 can't do custom music, if I could I'd put some Creedence (Run through the Jungle or Green River probably) or the Ghostbusters theme on it.
It's pretty fantastic to call in air support and see the chopper gunning people down to A-ha though.
It fits really well with the '80s helicopter music thing, was actually released before the timeframe of the game, and it's fucking awesome to have King Diamond saying, "C U N T, that's what you are!" while the bad dudes are getting lit the fuck up by gatling guns.
@speedhuntr: "Bad Blood" would probably work pretty well, come to think of it...
I use "A Phantom Pain" because that song is amazing and usually syncs with whatever I'm doing. If I had the PC version I would use what I did on the PS3 version, "Rules of Nature" from Metal Gear Rising or this.
@teddie: Don't feel bad about. It doesn't have the vocals anyway.
Obligatory "there's already a thread for this" post:
Mine's the same as the OP. It seems to kick in at the right time as well which is nice. I wanted to have "You Spin Me Round" by Dead or Alive but it takes too long to build up.
I have no helicopter music for the same reason my D Dog isn't blue and my Quiet isn't gold - I'm not a monster.

Guessing you dont use stealth camo or the rocket fist either. (Item spoilers if you care about that kind of thing, which I do)
