Unfortunately, the roster has been confirmed (what?)

So they recently confirmed the final roster for the game.. And it means that this game went from insta buy to maybe sometime in the future.

No Smoke! Or cyrax or sektor. A sad day for us all

I'm really looking forward to this roster, but I think even Netherrealm has acknowledged there are some significant fan favorites they've deliberately left off the list (for now).

I'm bummed by the lack of cyborg ninjas, but I also imagine The Predator will compensate for that in some way.

I feel like the daughter characters cant be a whole lot different than their parents are, moveset wise. Really bummed about including those and leaving out the classics (klassics).

Though of course I have yet to play the game, so I may be completely wrong here !

I'm totally happy with it (minus the lack of Baraka and playable Fujin). Yeah, some of my favorites are missing, but most of the newbies are exciting enough for me to not mind their absence.

Only 9 more days... *jiggles with anticipation*

Ermac and Kung Lao are in, and there are two characters that use handguns in their combos. That's enough for me. XD

Erron Black uses handguns? EDIT: misread that.

I'm bummed out about no smoke, but I'll manage. There are other great characters in this, and although the roster is not nearly as big as Injustice, the variations will keep it fresh!

To be fair, they did kill off a zillion characters last game, so they have an out to not include some characters. Plus the whole thing where each character takes way more work in this game because of their various movesets.

No Smoke is a bummer because I like how he played in MK9, but oh well.

Personally I don't really care about the cuts. Like having those characters would be cool, but I'm fine not having them. I'll gladly take a slimmer roster with a few new characters that is missing a couple of well-loved characters, over a bloated roster with too many characters to learn. Also from the gameplay footage I've seen, specifically on the Kombat Kast, I really like how just about all of the characters look in action. The new characters look pretty solid for the most part. I'm a little skeptical of Cassie, but I haven't played her yet so I'll reserve judgement. Also I'm curious to see how Jacqui is different from Jax later this week.

I wonder who the real popular characters will be early on. I feel like Erron Black will be there for sure, both because he looks cool as fuck and because people love to spam fast projectiles early. I also think Takeda could be one of them, as well as the standards (Scorpion and Sub Zero).

I don't really care about the cuts, I was never a fan of any of the cyborgs. Also Rain is a fightable npc with a full moveset so it's likely he will become playable at some point.

Ooooh boy, not really feeling that roster. I mean, I don't really give that much of a shit since I'm not exactly a huge MK fan, but every character I liked in 9 is absent in this game and despite having watched every NetherRealm stream and Youtube breakdown I could find, not one character in this game has made me go "that's my new main!" I dunno man, this whole thing has kinda gone from a day 1 purchase to try and get it on the cheap.

Its a bummer that Smoke isn't playable since he was my top guy, but hey the roster still looks pretty rad. At least my second man Jax is back, so I'll probably main with him.

Sad that smoke isn't appearing, but given the colorful roster I don't doubt we'll see a lot of DLCs. That and I hope the daughter characters are vastly different from their Parents.

Let's all agree that this roster is much better than the ones farted out Post-UMK3

@jonny_anonymous: Oh yeah, her and Tremor both seem like really cool additions. They got me super excited at first, but now just looking at the roster as a whole, I'm kinda like whatever. Who knows though, maybe I'll have another change of heart and see something that makes me want this on day1 again.

I'd much rather them feature new, non-ninja characters even if that means leaving out Smoke. That's a really solid line-up.

To be fair, there's no doubt in my mind there will be one, perhaps two, unlockable characters we don't know about, like Cyber Sub-zero was for MK9. I highly doubt it will be Smoke, but still.

I think the roster is great. Some of the new characters are pretty cool, especially Takeda.

That is a good line-up to me but then again I didn't like Smoke.

I thought Kabal was in. I need Kabal.

I was really excited about this but I this but I think I'll continue to play DOA 5 for all my fighting game needs. At least until Tekken 7.

I dont understand why they created all these "children" characters if they are just including the parents anyways. All those slots being taken up that could have went to fan favorites or new characters. I know this will be an unpopular opinion but I also think the horror movie characters suck. Put out a MK vs. Horror spin off if you want to do that stuff.

As a Sektor player, I am super bummed. Intractables had me skeptical, but this roster leak has really taken the wind out of my sails.

I really am fine with it, still very hyped. There are some old fan favorites missing, but I think overall they've put together a pretty solid roster (assuming the new characters all hold their own).

No Stryker? FUCK THAT

At least they made sure to include a new character with a gun.

They can't make everybody happy. They have to include old favorites. They have to introduce new characters. They have to keep the game balanced. Some people will be sore. That being said I'm hoping there will be secret unlockable characters. You never know.

No Noob or Smoke is a total bummer, but I really like the rest of the roster.

I'm bummed about no Smoke, Nightwolf or Stryker.

Part of me is really excited for this game, but the more cynical part is having flashbacks to the clusterfuck that was Mortal Kombat 4. I'm not entirely sure how this is going to go. I can see people being really into it, or another MK4 situation like "It was okay, but not nearly as good as the last one!"

Definitely either her or Sonya as the best female from MK9.

Kitana got all the glory but I preferred Jade. However Kitana wasn't all that different so only including one of them doesn't really miff me. Might as well pick the one people more often cosplay as.

On MKX: Looks great. Stop complaining about people who aren't in it. I'd be more upset about them using DLC on Jason and Predator (tho actually Predator does look pretty cool) than the lack of my favorite or 2nd favorite MK9 character to play as.

Bummed about Smoke, kind of bummed about Cyrax. Never liked playing as any of the other cuts.

@danzig: It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't convinced that those missing fighters are going to be coming out as DLC after launch. Jason and Predator are cool and all, but I want goddamn MK characters! And the fact that they are both IN THE GAME but aren't playable is a huge bummer. It just sucks.

Kenshi, Reptile, Kano and Ermac are all here. So my MK needs are met. Plus the predator makes me stoked. I miss some of the ones that they decided to exclude but I like all the newcomers they've shown.

Ed trolls like crazy, but don't lose hope in Cyrax.
