Most of you on here have probably heard of the prophecy of what's going to happen in the year 2012 due to the Mayan calendar and the predictions of Nostradamus. I've heard many different things of what will happen:
Many people think it's going to mark the apocalypse and mankind will cease to exist.
Humans will gradually or abruptly start to evolve.
Nothing, everyday lives.
A good majority of the predictions that the two made actually came true around the time it was said to happen. Such as WWII and the WTC. So do you think it's all garbage or do you believe it?
I personally think that we will continue to live our everyday lives once it comes, but you never know some predictions have come true.
If you don't know what I'm talking about then search it up on Google or your favorite search engine.
2012 Prophecy - What do you think?
"I think there's a good reason we don't use the Mayan calendar."LMAO!! but no i dont believe it
Major proof that it wont. Logic.
Everything i've heard is not only that it will end in 2012, but that it will end december 12, 2012. Why would the world just happen to end on 12/12/12?
"Bnfbnggbfg said:everything i've heard has said the 12th, but either way, 12/12 alone is suspicious enough."Major proof that it wont. Logic.Actually it's 12/21/12... I know my shit.

let's all build a great arch, true to modern times being a movable floatable anti-nuclear bunker that will resist even another comet, and put two of each animals and the maximum number of persons that will follow me through these hard times as we try to perfect ourselves in becoming better and closer to our benevolent sav...
yeah, even me I'm not swallowing it. Sounds way too cheesy. :)
Well... i have a lot of feelings on this particular issue.... but all i'll say is, there's a missing planet in our solar system, called Planet X! tho it has a name now, which was previously never disovered before basicly becuase its been hiding on the back side of the sun where we couldn't previously see before which is supposed to come EXTREMELY close to colliding with the Earth in 2012. It'll most likely the be the gravitational pull of this red planet that will start all the earth quakes, and rising sea levels.... it comes to pass with the earth once every 3200 years i believe....
I dunno what to believe, as there are so many theories out there who bloody knows? but this would give a compeling argument in the next 2 years when half the earth is supposed to actually look up at the sky and physicly see it, supposed to look like a 2nd sun...
I wouldn't let this rule your lives thats for sure, heniin has a point there.... no one can really know if its true or not, everything is a prediction, some are true some are not, its just comes down how you feel as an individual i suppose.... i'll be playing games right up untill the very last moment if it comes down to that!!
Video Game Heaven ................... i'll meet you all there
There is scientific validity to this theory, but obviously no one knows the future so who really knows.
2012? Nibiru(planet x)? Meh.. maybe who knows.
Apparently NASA announced "Nibiru" does exist near our solar system and that from their images it is "Growing"
But many people have confirmed there's actually a TAIL behind it.
Nostradamus' apocalyptic predictions have gone wrong before. That was in the middle of 1999, I think, and young as I was, I was poised and anxious about the possibility that the world might end. But I woke up the next morning and I watched Disney's Hercules, and I learned one important lesson: Nostradamus is a hack.
Wasn't the supposed "World Trade Center" prediction determined to be a hoax?
I'm sure Altair will save us, anyhow. That dude can run up walls.
"Wasn't the supposed "World Trade Center" prediction determined to be a hoax?As long as you aint on his list - then sure he'll save ya :P

I'm not much of a tinfoil hat conspiracist, but there may be some merit to this "theory."
Considering the Mayan calendar's track record of accurate or perhaps coincidental interpretations of future (our present/recent past) events, it is logical that many people will give merit to this calendar.
Let's say for a moment that I am acknowleding the Mayan calendar/Nostradamus' ability to foresee future events and that the calendar stops at 2012 because that is when civilization will cease to exist. It is very likely that the calendar stopped at 2012 because there was no need and no time to record every single date in history, however current events suggest otherwise.
We are at war on two fronts, in Afghanistan and Iraq. While Republicans will suggest otherwise (and I really do not want to get into a political debate,) this war is not going smoothly and has been a complete disaster. As a result, a contemptment has developed world-wide for the United States, viewing us as arrogant cowboys.
While this contemptment grows the man responsible for the destruction of the world trade center, Osama bin Laden, is safe within the confines of Pakistan; our supposed ally harbors the mastermind behind the death of more than 3,000 American civilians.
As the hunt for this terrorist continues tensions with Iran grow as they continue in their relentless pursuit of nuclear capability, in the interest of "cleansing" Israel from the face of the Earth. A war between these two countries is inevitable and because Israel is one of our most important allies, we will intervene. And so another war will begin.
There is genocide in Africa and the iron fist of Kim-Jung Il of North Korea tightens on his people all the while is insanity becomes increasingly more evident.
China's military grows stronger while ours weakens under the strain of the wars the United States has commited itself to.
In the coming years there will be a climax which may very well portend a disaster; the likes of which corresponding with the 2012 "doomsday" theory.
Or maybe none of this will take place and all of today's conflicts will be resolved. But people seem to think of the current nations as everlasting and immortal. However, history proves that no nation or empire lasts forever. Maybe 2012 is that time when things fall apart.

The only thing that is true about 2012 is we will be able to see planet x/nibiru.
We won't all die on a certain day, it will just be like the weather is getting a lot worse.
I know Nibiru is out there, i know the truth.
"BiggerBomb said:Chain reaction, buddy. If there was a nuclear strike on the U.S., a chain reaction would ensue. There would be a world war and you better believe that this would lead MAD; aka Mutually Assured Destruction. This would be on a global scale."I'm not much of a tinfoil hat conspiracist, but there may be some merit to this "theory."2012 was supposed to be the end of the world....not the end of the USA.

That's just a theory. I don't think such mass destruction will actually take place, it is simply a justification for those who believe in this 2012 prophecy.
if the world is gonna end there'll be some indication of it in the months leading up to it, then we'll know.
