So holy shit... this happened apparently.... and I'm thinking this is pretty fucked up although judging by the article none of the kids were seriously hurt but still...

Unless a heroin ring run by adorable Corgis is uncovered in Ohio this afternoon, we’re confident that this toddler fight club in Delaware will take the cake for “Most Discouraging Story About America” today.
Three women, all of them day care workers, were arrested Monday after police uncovered a cell phone video in which they could be seen organizing (and pretty much refereeing) fights between toddlers, according to CNN
The toddlers were not seriously injured, but they were “clearly hurting each other,” said Dover Police Capt. Tim Stump.
Authorities have not released the video but say one day care worker said “No pinching, only punching” after one of the boys complained that the other had pinched him.
The video purportedly shows seven other children seated in the room with their backs to the fighting, according to police.
“It’s not like they didn’t know what was going on, and they were just encouraging them to continue,” Stump said. “One of the children attempted to run, but one of the teachers pushes him back into the fray.
Police are investigating the possibility that this was not an isolated incident, but at this time have no reason to believe it was not.
We’ve done some pretty bad things, you guys, but I think toddler fight club takes the cake for the worst thing ever done. I just don’t understand how three women in their right minds (well, I guess there is nothing “right” about their minds) never stopped and thought, “Hey wait a minute, we’re doing something dastardly and probably shouldn’t force toddlers to fight each other.” Weird.

Oh America. Wait, I live in America. Fuck.

Ah...

Man the plan was so foolproof. Except eventually the toddlers would learn to talk and inevitably would talk about Fight Club.

On one hand, that's amazing.

On the other hand, THAT'S AMAZING.

DO NOT take your child to day care! If you must leave your child with somebody while you work, make sure you fucking know the people. It's always amazed me how little parents seem to care about where they leave their kids during the day. I was also left at a couple very shitty daycare places as a child, and I have lasting issues with religion and strangers which I believe started in these places. Avoid churches, first and foremost.

fi' cub.

serious though, though this is sick, I don't see how toddlers can injure each other.

You've got to train them from birth to fight. It's too late when they're that old.

I feel terrible for giggling at this, because it really is a fucking horrible thing, but now all I can think about is a "Fight Club Babies" animated series.

First rule of toddler fight club is, you don't talk about toddler fight club. Second Rule! YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT TODDLER FIGHT CLUB!!!

This should have been a poll, with the options "disturbing" "funny" or "both".

I'm not entirely sure which one I want to say it is. On the one hand, this is horrible. On the other... this could be darkly humorous.

What in the actual fuck...
Some people are just, I don't know, fucking stupid? Who could one day wake up and think that this was a good idea, and who's parents were on a lot of drugs when they made their child who grew up to say "I would watch that!"
They deserve a punch in the throat... by a toddler

This story is quite sensationalist.

I'd pay to see this.

I started a fight club at my high school. It lasted maybe a week, until me and another guy almost broke our hands because we both went to punch each other at the same time and our fists collided. Ouch.

This is the perfect way for kids to build up self-esteem and earn money for their parents.

The parents can earn money for the kids college or psychiatric fees while the parents of the losing child can find the nearest safe-haven to drop the kid off and try again in 3 years. It's a win win!

I think this should be sanctioned though and should probably have drug tests like they do in UFC. We don't need a steroid baby defeating everyone.

One super jacked-up baby fighting off scores of other, lesser babies? Yes we absolutely do need that.

@MrKlorox Dude don't blame the parents in sure they looked into and researched a place they thought was a safe environment for thier children. Not every parent has te luxury of being able to quit a job and become a full time care person for their kid. Let the blame fall on these shitty fucking daycare workers.

This article does seem super sensationalist though not that there is an excuse for this behaviour at all but something tells me this isn't as violent or disgusting as this article would have people believe.

Clearly not well enough. The parents absolutely share the blame. Having a career is no excuse to leave one's kids wherever it's convenient.

Hey, don't accuse chloe of that... she makes meth not heroin. DUH.

@MrKlorox Haha ok I guess you aren't a parent. Feeding and clothing yur kids is absolutely an excuse to leave your kids at a daycare. Again saying te just left them anywhere is a load of crap, most parents spend a shit load of time researching for safe places for their kids not just dumping them off where its easiest. Sometimes people can't be trusted and do shitty things, they are to blame no one else.

@Rave: If that makes you sleep better at night, by all means believe that you're not responsible for your children's safety.
#44 Posted by Rave (371 posts) -
@MrKlorox I live in the real world where I am well aware I can't watch my child's every move and protect them at all times. All I can do is my best to make sure they are kept safe and the people that care for them (teachers, daycare, friends, family) are the best people I can find.

I suppose your kid will be on lockdown and you will be jobless until they are old enough to make their own living.
#45 Posted by DivineShadow777 (106 posts) -

I think we should have these 3 women fight to the death as punishment and the last one left standing gets to fight in the UFC... or jay. Both are just another death sentence.

#46 Posted by MrKlorox (11209 posts) -
@Rave: FYI, there's a difference between locking your child in his or her room and vetting his/her caretakers better. Not like you'd be able to tell from your black or white responses.
#47 Posted by Rave (371 posts) -
@MrKlorox You were the one passing some blame to the parents without knowing any information about thier daycare selection process. If you really believe that if you take all the proper procautions nothing bad will happen then you will be in for some relay disappointment when you grow up.

There is nothing black or white about my replies to you. I am just sick of always hearing everyone else is to blame as well as the criminal. Some people are shitty scumbags they are responsible for thier own actions and should be held liable no one else.
#48 Posted by Zleunamme (687 posts) -

While some people think that toddler fighting rings are funny. What is sad are incidents of abuse not being reported. Coming from the day care or the home. Imagine a parent who sent their kid to that day care and to find bruises on them. It would be upsetting to know that the people who were intrusted with the lives of kids would do such a thing.

#49 Posted by rentfn (1282 posts) -

I was at my wife's work outing last week and a bunch of her co-works had kids. I mentioned to some people we should put them all in a ring and see which one walks/crawls out....damn people stole my idea
