It makes your desktop... 360 degrees. For example you can scroll through your desktop by moving your mouse to the edge of the screen (lots of configurable options so this doesn't become annoying) and you can even put programs or icons on the 360 desktop as well. You can check it out here

You can get 1-1 here btw:

@TwoOneFive: It says companies can create branded 360 wallpapers which would include media related to the brand but other then that it seems legit.

I don't think it's spam.  He's just showing everyone a cool new feature.

It's a cool thing but it makes you have damn ads on your desktop, what the hell. I don't want this.

I'm not spamming just showing off a rad new desktop thingy. And @ Scooper if you don't use internet explorer you don't get ads. I do not have IE installed and there are none.

Agreed. I just haven't ever come across one that lets you scroll through the background image like that.

As much as I am tempted to try this, I just know it won't serve me in any way. I've tried several different virtual desktops, and they never offered anything that was actually useful.

If it's spam, it's got nothing to do with us!

My name is Mike Stuchbery, and I'm the Community Manager at 360desktop. I'm the guy who keeps a lookout for what people are saying about us and who spreads the word.

To answer some queries here, yeah, virtual desktops have been around for a while, but we really think that 360desktop has functionalities above and beyond that of most virtual desktops. For a start, the 360-degree panoramic feature really does allow for some stunning wallpapers.  We've got thousands of wallpapers including gaming, sports and awesome landscapes. We also have some great tools that allow you to make your own 360s from a single image or a series that you select.

What I'm really excited at the moment is our ability to embed widgets. Basically, if you can code it in HTML, it can be embedded as part of your desktop. We use it for music players, twitter feeds, chat - almost anything you can do on the web.

If you would like a good view of the software, check out this video. If you're interested, visit our site and give the software a try - we think you'll love it.

If you've got any questions, feel free to hit me up here on Twitter.

Cheers,
