I'm bored at work and I have a few hours left so just trying to have a conversation with someone cause lets be real, who the fuck is going to call a Help Desk at 3 AM? (Few people do and it sucks when they do)

What album/s are you looking foreword too most this coming year? I love music and it s a big part of my life and just curious what other people are looking foreword too.

Fear Factory - The Industrialist: The album I'm looking foreword too most and its only a few weeks away. It sucks to hear that Gene Hoglan didn't do the drums on the track and that they actually used a drum machine (ironic because they were accused for years that they used one on their albums but Herrera and Hoglan are just fuckin awesome) for this one but I still love the band and will devour it on June 5th. Probably my lock for personal album of the year.

The Offspring - Days Go By: Been a long time since there last album which I loved and hope that this one will be just as good.

Testament - Dark Roots of the Earth: The above mentioned Gene Hoglan apparently did some of the drums on this album and Testament has been a good to great metal band since they started so I can't wait to hear what it sounds like because their last album was bad ass.

Rush - Clockwork Angles: It's fucking Rush, it's going to be awesome, duh.

Artists that I hope to hear announce a release of an album with in the next year or so: Alice in Chains, Bob Dylan, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine (just do it already for god's sake), The Sword, Slayer, Wolfmother, and FUCKING TOOL!!! GOD DAMMIT MAYNARD STOP TEASING ME AND RELEASE SOMETHING, ANYTHING, CANCEL THE ALBUM I DON'T CARE JUST DON'T LEAVE ME IN THE DARK ANY LONGER, IT'S KILLING ME.

(Clears throat) Sorry about that. Anyways what are you guys looking foreword too?

I thing Revolutionary Volume 3 by Immortal Technique is coming out this year... but other than that I already got my albums this year.

You won't

The Black Keys

&

Death Grips

I'd like to see that new Boards of Canada, but that's wishful thinking.

#5 Posted by joshthebear (2700 posts) -

Old Man Gloom - No

Converge - New untitled album

Minus Te Bear - New untitled album

Rush - Clockwork Angels

That's about it. I'm super out of the loop on bands that I don't religiously follow

The only one on my radar at the moment is Deeds of Flesh's next album, Portal To Canaan. Things been in production since mid 2010, and they released a teaser in December 2011, so it should be out any time now.

Rush's new album Clockwork Angels. I have waited for it a very long time now.

#8 Edited by Stete (722 posts) -

Of the top of my head the new albums by Kreator, Fear Factory, Sabaton, Gojira and Wintersun (if it comes out)

However my most anticipated album of this year has already come out, and it's Moonspell's Alpha Noir/Omega White. Four years to release a goddamn album but it was worth waiting.

The new Biffy Clyro double LP. 'The Land at the End of Our Toes' 'The Sand at the Core of Our Bones'

Also I think Green Day are also doing a double album which I am interested in.

Anything El-P has had his hands on.

#11 Posted by Apparatus_Unearth (3095 posts) -

New Rush sounds exciting, and I'm hoping for a new Tool album.

Curren$y - The Stoned Immaculate

Sigur Ros - Valtari

Patti Smith - Banga

Hot Chip - In Our Heads

The dB's - Falling Off The Sky

Fiona Apple - The Idler Wheel is Wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do

Walk The Moon - Walk The Moon

The Offspring - Days Gone By

Twin Shadow - Confess

Cat Power - Sun

Animal Collective - CENTIPEDE Hz

Matthew Dear - Beams

...and probably a lot more too that I'm unaware of at this time.

My most anticipated album all year would have to be Handwritten by The Gaslight Anthem. Im also curious to hear where Green Day go with the two albums releasing this year and id like to be excited for the new Offspring but that first single was meh and the other released song was so awful so my expectations for that are pretty low.

#14 Posted by NegativeCero (2972 posts) -

The xx second album. I usually don't pay attention when a band releases an album, but I loved their debut so much.

#15 Posted by klimdeeni (141 posts) -

the only thing announced that I care about this year is the new flaming lips album in late June, but they're calling it a follow up to Embryonic, and I didn't really care for that one so much... Kind of a bummer. I wish they'd do a follow up to The Soft Bulletin or Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

#16 Edited by Oscar__Explosion (2178 posts) -

The only album I care about for this year just came out a few days ago Tenacious D - Rize of the Fenix

New Tool album if it actually gets finished which I heard it should be but I have no idea since I haven't tried to find out...

Back to Diablo.

I don't even know what albums are releasing this year. I've just been downloading mixtapes.

#19 Posted by Jaqen_HGhar (848 posts) -

Unless Tool actually comes out with a new album, then more or less nothing.

Other than the new Amanda Fucking Palmer project, The Grand Theft Orchestra, which I have backed on Kickstarter.

I feel like an ass for saying this because I am a huge fan of Testament but the last album was soooooo bad. I really hope they go back to the sound they had on "The Gathering". Hoglan is a good start towards that.

Do you like Curren$y?

#22 Posted by BraveToaster (12590 posts) -

@Guided_By_Tigers: I've heard quite a few of his songs. The only ones that I like are Micheal Knight and Flying Iron. His style is way too mellow for my tastes.

@CookieMonster: You must be looking forward to Killer Mike's new album: R.A.P. Music then? Because I sure as hell am.

G.O.O.D. Music's album - The Collaboration between Kanye West as the peeps on his label. Including Pusha T, Mos Def and Q-tip.

Daddy Fat Sax...Soul Funk Crusader by Big Boi - It would be a good guess this album comes out this year as Big Boi has started doing interviews and shit for it

Untitled Andre 3000 album - Look a man can dream!

I am always looking forward to any crazy shit Radiohead might do, you never know when they will drop a new album.

Rumour has it that Wu Tang Clan and/or Ghostface Killah are dropping new albums this year. I doubt it but you never know.

Oh shit, I forgot about his upcoming projects. He has, what, two expected to come out in 2012? Dude might be a dick on Twitter, but I'll still buy his music.

Same for Aesop Rock, in case he has anything in the works.
#25 Posted by cutyoface (539 posts) -

Well it just came out but Tenacious D - Rize of the Fenix. I am also looking forward to Green Day's 3 album thing they have going on.

#26 Posted by Cyrus_Saren (529 posts) -

The albums I was looking forward to have already come out: Storm Corrosion and OSI's Fire Make Thunder

#27 Posted by BiG_Weasel (524 posts) -

Mine's actually already out, but since it came out in 2012- Van Halen "A Different Kind of Truth". They've always been my favorite band, and I dig the album. Not so much at first, but it grows on you. "Outta Space" is the best rush hour traffic song I've heard in a while.

#28 Posted by Rafaelfc (1311 posts) -

Rush - Clockwork Angels

The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness (remastered)

Green Day - Uno! and Dos! (two albums this year)

and that's about it.... I'm curious about the next Linkin Park album as well, but not really looking forward to it, it'll happen at some point.

#29 Posted by Bruce (5264 posts) -

@Nightriff:

Rush still make music!? That's incredible.

I was looking forward to Bloom (Beach House), but it underwhelmed me. It's good, not great. After that, probably the new Animal Collective album or this rumored Daft Punk record that Nile Rogers keeps talking about.

#30 Posted by KillyDarko (1888 posts) -

Foreword.

#31 Posted by Cloudenvy (5891 posts) -

Jun Maeda's new album is the only one I was looking forward to and that's already out.

There are still plenty of singles I'm looking forward to though.

#32 Posted by forkboy (1107 posts) -

Yeah. Yeah. Old Man Gloom's new record is a must buy when it drops. I still don't have the new Brian Jonestown Massacre album which came out nearly 2 weeks ago.

I'm kind of shit at keeping up with new releases in music now I don't buy any music mags. I just hear from friends when something new has dropped. I've been slacking the past 18 months.

#33 Posted by Goboard (103 posts) -

Clockwork Angels is about the only thing I care about music wise.

Amen brother. It looks like we'll get at least an EP from Nathan Fake though, if you're into that stuff. Also, The Prodigy are probably releasing this year.

#35 Posted by Nightriff (4862 posts) -

@Bruce: Rumored Daft Punk Album? Fuckin serious? I'm excited if that's real, I haven't heard anything about it.

#36 Posted by WMWA (1160 posts) -

The only ones I'm actively looking forward to are Passion Pit, Azealia Banks and El-P's albums. I'm sure I'll love a lot of other stuff, but I usually just listen to it as it drops. Don't really pay too much attention to release dates now that I don't have to write about music anymore

#37 Posted by Bruce (5264 posts) -

@Nightriff:

Nile Rogers came out a few months ago and said he was working with Daft Punk on their latest record. If it's true, the songs are coming along. There were two or three reports of this.

#38 Edited by SmasheControllers (2543 posts) -

Motion City Soundtrack's GO and the re-release of Archers of Loaf's All The Nation's Airports and White Trash Hero. That's about it

#39 Posted by FreakAche (2948 posts) -

I'm looking forward to Metric's new album. I forget what it's called.

#40 Posted by PeasantAbuse (5137 posts) -

I'm looking forward to new albums by Pig Destroyer, Old Man Gloom, Converge, Death Grips, and Gojira this year.

#41 Posted by imsh_pl (3295 posts) -

L'enfant Sauvage and Apocalyptic Love.

#42 Posted by Nightriff (4862 posts) -

@Bruce: That's fantastic news, hopefully they don't take care forever on it.

#43 Edited by chrissedoff (2075 posts) -

The new Japandroids album is almost here. Nothing puts me in a good mood like their music does.

#44 Posted by Rokkaku (221 posts) -

The XX for me, I have every faith I'll be completely enamoured like I was for their debut. Also, I don't know if they've even said they are working on a third album, but I dearly hope Crystal Castles are working on something (i.e Crystal Castles III). Their first two LP's were electro-heaven for me, and I really wonder if there will be another grand evolution in their sound for the next project.

#45 Posted by Bruce (5264 posts) -

@Rokkaku:

FUCK! I forgot about the xx.

I really hope it's a good album; their debut was great.

#46 Posted by Bruce (5264 posts) -

@Nightriff:

Nile Rogers's involvement really intrigues me. Possibly a return to Discovery form? I mean, Human After All did some really inventive things, but I was disappointed with it until I heard the way they worked it into their live sets.

#47 Posted by phuzzybunny (171 posts) -

Hmmm. If Daft Punk comes out with an album this year then I'm all for that. Nothing really this year except for new NOFX and new Gaslight Anthem.

#48 Posted by dopplerganger (80 posts) -

New Liars album next month and whenever Converge and Neurosis come out.

This. Plus, I'm hoping for Volbeat to announce a new album after their summer touring is done. Also, I think Dream Evil is supposed to put out a new one this year, so I'm hoping that comes out.
