It lives again!

So, I heard from another topic that some of you guys like anime?

We have a MAL club so you can stalk other duders and see what they're currently watching or have watched. We also have a Steam group if you just want to play some of these videogames I've heard so much about!

@Cloudenvy: How is Tsuritama, all I know is that Gin-san is in it, and that makes it sound really good.

We should also make this the Manga discussion thread as well.

So Medaka Box is pretty good, eh?

@No0b0rAmA: I really like Tsuritama, like..A lot. It's really quirky and kind of has a lot of info about real fishing, but there's also some decent character development and an over-the-top, silly plot!

It's definitely not for everyone, but I can't help but love it due to how quirky it is.

@Bocam: Man, I was like 100 chapters into Medaka Box when it turned super weird and I got completely confused. Is there a plot again?

@Bocam: You might want to put that in some sort of spoiler tag, just to be safe.

Well, I joined the Steam group. But... I can't help but think that the anime thread getting deleted was a bit odd.

@believer258: It was most likely due to a bug in the system. @Knave who created the original thread never received a PM about his thread being deleted so I doubt any of the mods did it.

Sounds like we just had the most rotten luck on the forum!

@ManU_Fan10ne: Kids on the Slope is alright. I've never been a big fan of romance shows with that many people in play at once and I also think it's a little rushed from time to time.

Music is fantastic though and there are definitely people out there enjoying it a lot more than I am.

EDIT: Woah it looked like it was going to work but then it didn't post. That might be a bug?

EDIT2: Man even when I try to mess with it in the code option for parchment it's still all busted. Oh well, I can imagine designing the code for spoiler tags to work with the odd way images work on these forums to be a tricky process.

EDIT 3: So I finally got it to work; you just have to go to code mode and do an old-fashioned straight-up html <img src="..." alt="" /> in code mode editing the div for the spoiler itself. For some reason the parchment options will mess it up. Probably has to do with the different javascripts and their associated divs being in conflict.

Anyone check out Rideback? I thought it was pretty cool. Not great, but cool. Only 12 episodes, so it wasn't much of a time investment.

@Cloudenvy: Hosoda films are almost always brilliant. I really liked Summer Wars, too, but I'd still say the The Girl Who Leapt Through Time would be my all-time favorite of his films.

My all time favorite anime film ever would actually be 5 Centimeters Per Second. Hit me personally since I could actually sympathize with the premise. Such a poignant, bittersweet film!

@EquitasInvictus: When I first watched 5cm Per Second I didn't really get it, but on my second viewing I really liked it. I've never seen Summer Wars though, is it any good? Only thing I've heard is that it's like Digimon, which doesn't seem very promising...

@EquitasInvictus: Weirdly enough I kind of don't like Summer Wars. It just seemed like he went "Remember that really good Digimon movie I made a while back? well, I want to remake that but kind of make it worse and have it be double the runtime!". I still have high hopes for his new movie though.

@DonChipotle: Yeah, Major is awesome. Sports Anime always tend to be my favorites. Shame that Season 6 was pretty weak because of all the unnecessary filler they added, even though the Manga was already finished by the time. The 2 OVA series that came out after were worth it though.

@DonChipotle: Ookiku Furikabutte is the best baseball anime of all time.

In my mind, season 5 was the real finale to the series. Seriously, that last episode was a perfect ending. The fact that it reused the season one OP as the closer cemented this. Season 6 wasn't bad, but it felt like everything was resolved way too quickly and none of the new cast other than Murdoch had any room to grow. Oliver and Emily and that other lady were just kind of...in the background.

Nah, but for real I like Ookiku Furikabutte but Major has Sato Toshiya so that makes it better.

@Knave: That's kind of why I like it so much, having one game span 10 episodes is insaaaaaane.
