It seems everytime I go to get my haircut, no matter how long I describe what I want, they always cut it wrong ._. I almost have a fear of getting my hair cut now, so I usually only get it cut twice a year
Does anyone else here hate getting the old hair chopped? Any shitty hair disasters you'd like to share?
Anyone else hate getting haircuts?
I have a love/hate relationship with my barber. Every time I go to see him every 4 months or so he tells me I've put on weight, and whilst cutting it he goes "Make the most of it while you still got it".
So I'm fat and balding, thanks.
yeah, i hate getting my hair cut. i kind of feel like i'm getting cheated for $20 cut. i think that the cutter just cuts the way that he/she wants to. it's also why i got a shaver. i spend about $20 on it and shaved my head now. people said that i would look good. so i did it myself.
if your going to shave it yourself i suggest you just go full shaved because styling the back is really hard. you most likely won't get it the way you want.
It's always the same cut anyway no matter how you describe how you want your hair cut. Once I told him to just experiment and do something different, I didn't even care. He gave me the exact same hair cut.
So now I just do it myself. I don't have to go anywhere or pay any money (after buying the buzzer at least). It looks about the same anyway. Only hard part is around the ears and on the back of the head, but with a bit of patience that's not a problem.
I feel constrained at the barber, sitting under that blanket with sharp objects in your hair. Also when I was about 10 I got my ear cut. It was a fairly deep cut as well and all I got was 20 % off.
The barber I went to last time had a really strong Greek accent, and I couldn't understand him for the life of me. I was like, "Don't cut it too short, I'd like it to cover my ears at least", but he didn't respond. When it was over, the haircut was too short, way too short. I remember going to the same place a few months earlier and the woman who cut my hair that time did it just as I asked. Apparently she's left there now, so I might look for a new barbers.
I got a hair cut about 4 days ago, I tell him exactly how I want it (I even tell him how to cut it) and my haircut was fine, except he gave me a ball cut fringe, went to my Nana's (she's a hair dresser from way back) and just said, "fix it" and now it looks more natural and not fucking stupid. I get my hair cut 2 or 3 times a year, I usually get them really short before school starts again and so my hair looks a little too short to suit me and then it goes normal and later on goes insanely long and I need to cut it again.
Hair is probably one of the very few things I actually get stereotypical female anxiety over, for as mine is quite long there exists a rather humongous scope for error if the girl with the scissors shifts into haircut autopilot whilst trying to tell me about her boyfriend/clothes/weekend/latest manicure
I tend to cut my own, I roll with borderline bed hair most days so it's not as though real haircuts would even be worth it at this stage

"I have naturally very straight hair, with no wave. I've been told it resembles asian hair, and it's apparently really hard to cut.
Given that, I don't get my haircut in a barbers, anymore. My gf is a hairdresser so I only let her do it. If she does it wrong or doesn't listen to me, I can just bitch at her.

Also, what this guy said :)" Got a haircut yesterday. I like short hair, but I really dislike the process. So yeah, I guess I do not like getting my hair cut. But I do like the end result. "
" Been 2 years since i cut my hair, im just trying to postpone the inevitable. "I just cut my long hair off... Don't do it, I felt as if I lost my powers.
I went five years without getting a haircut, not a trim, nothing.
I like it, I don't like having long hair and having to worry about combing it plus I cut it myself it usually goes quick and it's free.
" @Khann said:Dreads are tasty though." I haven't cut my hair in around 5 years... yay for dreads. "Dreads are never a good thing. "
I'm blind as a bat without my glasses so at the barber it's a leap of faith as I sit there attempting to squint out what's happening.
Although, I don't care much for my hair so it's all good.
I used to have long hair but it was a hassle to wash them and then dry them and all that jazz every morning. So i took the decision to cut them short and have a mohawk. Best decision i ever made.

My haircut is just me turning on the trimmer and shaving off all but half an inch of hair. Very effective.
I'm almost positive I look better with really short hair. I've got frizzy hair, each strand is really thin, but there are so many strands that the hair is thick.
But I enjoy getting my hair cut, makes me feel good and makes me feel cleaner. When I was in the US the lady I would get my hair cut from's brother is a police officer. She was telling me how she knows all the police officers in our neighborhood.
Ugh, I don't want anyone near my hair. I always let it grow out to a certain point, then cut it myself when necessary.
I have a long, righteous mane. As such, I don't get haircuts often. But I don't mind them when it comes time to go in not for a cut, but to get rid of split ends and essentially just keep the hair healthy and whatnot.
Yeah I always hated it, I never knew what to tell the effin barber and it never turned out how I would like.
So a couple of years ago I got me one of these and never bothered with getting hair cuts since, now I cut my own damn hair.
I am actually about to go get my hair cut right after I post here. Yeah, I don't really enjoy doing it. It only takes about 10 minutes but the time there is always very awkward. I try to think of shit to talk about beforehand haha. It's stupid, I don't know why I am the way I am. It especially sucks now that I've started losing my hair. Fucking bummer dude.
UPDATE: Cut went well, the lady was nice. She started talking about the weather which is a drag, told me her great-grandfather was an author at some point. The small-talk is always a drag but I'm happy with the cut.
