Anyone feel like they're on the FBI watch list because they browse this site?

I mean, the name of this site and all......

I always have.

Of course for any other reason do you feel you're on the watchlist?

I have no reason to be on such a list.

Not in my country. I don't think the FBI care what we do. I do know I have a file with our equivalent, due to some of my protest (cough) activities. I know this because they landed on my doorstep once. I asked them if I had broken any laws, they said no and I ended the conversation, I think my file is pretty small though.

If the FBI saw the name of the site, they would have long ago removed it from any potential watch list.

I think my account on www.thisisawebsiteforbuildingwmds.biz is what got me on the list, actually.

If you want to be on their list, then when you are talking on the phone, randomly say "bomb location" and "kill the president". Then you will know if they are listening to your phone calls. Go on, try it. It will be fun.

Getting on a list like that would be the DEATH of me. I don't know what I'd have TO do to get the FBI to look at me. But earning the ire of the best law enforcement in AMERICA is something I'd like to avoid. It'd DESTROY me. THE thought makes me go WHITE as a ghost. If it happened I wouldn't be able to leave me HOUSE.

Well...my bank did call me when i first subscribed to the site...maybe that wasn't the bank?

Ever since I started making plans to blow up The Government I've felt like maybe there's a chance I'm being watched.

No but that sounds exciting. How do I get onto this list? Do I need to make plans to kill the president? I have MS paint and I can do that. I'll do it, don't even think I won't.

Fun fact! You can request the FBI actually send you a copy of the information they have on you and they have to comply. I'd guess a good many of us are on watchlists even if you dont think you are.

If the FBI are using their time to monitor a gaming site, just because of the name, then I'd be seriously concerned about their priorities.

YES, me too. I get the chills thinking how an alarm will suddenly go off and say, "Terrorist CONFIRMED." It's not like I'm HITMAN47. By the way, have you heard the news about that one guy? I would hate to be COMPROMISED like that.

The government is pretty insane. I remember when information leaked out that showed that Gamefaqs was on the Canadian governments watch these assholes list. If that site can make it on a list like that, so can Giant Bomb.

Yes, I did hear THE news. I doubt that someone would PLAN something like that though. As far as news GOES that was a shocker. As long as we think AHEAD I'm sure we can avoid accidentally attracting the FBI's attention. Honestly, people who make getting on those lists their TARGET garner little respect from me. Me? I'm just happy staying out of trouble, mowing THE lawn and making lemonade. I trust the people at the CAPITOL to protect me and my family.

I want to be on that list! It'll be like a thriller movie but real and actually good. Think of all the alley fights and car chases. I feel 20% cooler now.

My gf just finished finished her degree in criminal science. In one of her criminology classes her professor listed many of the key words that government agencies take notice of from google searches. Bomb is definitely on that list. So I'm sure many of our ip addresses are monitored just because we might have searched for giantbomb things on google. I don't worry about it because I don't have plans to commit any crimes other then breaking the speed limit daily.

If the name of giantbomb ever bothers me its when I'm out in public talking about the site. There's always that one psycho that will hear that one word and report it. When I went to PAX I noticed the amtrak stations playing the "report any threat" commercials over and over. Now in NJ and PA I hear them all the time on the radio, telling people to report anyone acting weird or saying things related to threats. How long before some person over reacts when they hear one of us in an airport talking about giantbomb today to another person?

If you do searches for those key words then your IP is monitored. Unless you are involved with crime and terrorist acts then you are safe but your search is logged.
