Anyone playing Catherine?

I picked up Catherine a while ago, I believe it was during a sale on PSN, anyways I got it real cheap and have been playing it intermittently ever since. It is an interesting take on the classic arcade game (I am not really sure, but that would be what you would call the scaling part, right?) and it definitely puts you up for a challenge, even on the normal difficulty setting. It has an interesting learning mechanism, in that it does not force anything upon you really, except for the most basic controls. The rest is up to you to learn via the ''discussion-group'' that is often found in-between scaling the great heights found in the protagonist's dreams. Too bad that there is no way of looking up those techniques as you go on with your climbing, it HAS to be memorised, which is excessively difficult to do while also having to battle both time and those nightmarish creatures that stalk Vincent.

I like the humor, it is pretty run of the mill, not unlike anything else that you often see in anime - but it is there and it serves its purpose well. I have not got to the end of the game yet, but I am getting there. From what I can tell, it is a pretty short game, most likely over in 4-6 hours, depending on how fast one is able to clear the levels.

Anyones thoughts on this game?

@conzed92: Please check the game-specific forums...the Catherine board has over 250 topics in it currently, so there are certainly people playing it. Off Topic is for anything that isn't about video games or the site.
